September 11, 200619 yr do the ai aircraft have a better takeoff and landing sounds than FS9. or we going to need FS hotseat?
September 11, 200619 yr I tried the CRJ /approach landing mission in the demo.AS you land there is a jet waiting to depart, I turned of the runway and waited to hear what the AI sounds like.IT sounds stunning... IMO its far ahead of what FS Hotseat does in regard to AI sounds in fs2004.John
September 11, 200619 yr Yes aircraft now have their own sound folder, so they improved sounds. This will also mean customisable sounds to further improve them :D Alaister Kay
September 12, 200619 yr Commercial Member I did a test flight from KORD to KCMI... I could distinctly hear the sound of the a/c in front of me apply takeoff power as I was holding short..Startup sounds... I'll check for you.-Bryan B. York FS2Crew Web Site / FS2Crew Facebook Page / FS2Crew Discord
September 12, 200619 yr The key here in FSX is that each individual aircraft can have it's own sounds totally customizable. You no longer are stuck with one set of sounds for large jet aircraft, one set for turbo props, one set for piston engine aircraft.A DC-6 can sound like a DC-6, not a C-172.The CRJ has 28 AI only sound files, and access to it's regular UI 69 sound files. There is a complete SDK on sound - and alot of it is on AI sound.
September 13, 200619 yr You guys want to hear some awesome sounds - try the Beaver or Goose in exterior view, and rotate around the aircraft. It is absolutely incredible on an adequate 5.1 surround sound system. Oh, and make sure you have a pretty good subwoofer. ;)Best,Owen *****<br>J.
