September 17, 200619 yr Guys, I had downloded Gottfried Razek' photo scenery in the AVSIM LIbrary for FS9. This is a High resolution scenery. 1.2 meters/pixel.http://library.avsim.net/esearch.php?DLID=...azek&CatID=rootI just added this to the FSX Addon and redirected it to the FS9 addon scnery.I tookout the Autogens...by moving the slider to the left. Don't need auto gen for this. But I increased the vehicle traffic to around 60%...Make sure you have the texture resolution to atleast 1 meter or 60cms.And WOW.. it brought the whole scenery live. Those are moving traffic on the high resolution highway.http://forums.avsim.net/user_files/156521.jpghttp://forums.avsim.net/user_files/156522.jpghttp://forums.avsim.net/user_files/156524.jpg Manny Beta tester for SIMStarter

September 17, 200619 yr It's definitely pretty neat. Except I'm getting all sorts of weird texture tearing all around.http://forums.avsim.net/user_files/156530.jpg
September 17, 200619 yr Author Hi!What do you mean by "texture tearing"? Could you provide a screenie?I suppose it happens in FSX only. This is a FS9 scenery. It has not been tested for FSX yet. So there might be problems when using it with FSX. --------------------------- Blue Skies, Gottfried www.blueskyscenery.com
September 17, 200619 yr Carmine is right.. Even though I have the phtoscenery at the top of the list... the default keeps poking throu... the pohto texure seems to give way showing whats underneath it in some places...But for a Proof of concept... this is OK. Gottfried, You may have to make adjustments to this for FSX or maybe since this is the Beta version..that may be it.Manny Manny Beta tester for SIMStarter
September 17, 200619 yr Author Seems like a problem with the flatten instructions in FSX. If the underlying default isn't flattened properly, it pokes thru my textures. Maybe increasing mesh-resolution helps? --------------------------- Blue Skies, Gottfried www.blueskyscenery.com
September 17, 200619 yr That is correct Gottfried, the FSX default textures bleed through on some tiles. Good job on the textures by the way, although I don't like static satellite shots. But to get a taste of a sense of realism, it was fun to look at.
September 18, 200619 yr Very cool, also Mr. Razek, if you're listening, please do my beautiful hometown, Las Vegas. Hehe, wishful thinking I'm sure, but who knows.Jeff Jeff Commercial | Instrument | Multi-Engine Land AMD 5600X, RTX3070, 32MB RAM, 2TB SSD
September 18, 200619 yr Author I'm listening :-) Unfortunately I have no imagery for Vegas. If you do, call me back...Now new: Downtown Long Beach Ultra High Res Ground Scenery: http://library.avsim.net/download.php?DLID=91102 It's up to a blazing 0,3m/pix. --------------------------- Blue Skies, Gottfried www.blueskyscenery.com
September 19, 200619 yr >I'm listening :-) That's good, because I have to say: Thank you very much for this great scenery improvement :)GreetingsAlex
September 20, 200619 yr Author Thanks :-) --------------------------- Blue Skies, Gottfried www.blueskyscenery.com
September 21, 200619 yr "Looks very 2D to me"Did you actually try the scenery. It does not look 2d at all from anything over a thousand feet. The shadows in the image gives the illusion of 3d. If you have LAX airport scenery such as Bill Melichar's it also helps. Some 3d trees around the airport would look good too. After you reach 1000 ft and higher only large buildings need be 3d objects. This is all in FS9 as I haven't tried it in FSX which should look even better. Anyways, if you fly 1000ft and higher this scenery is "as real as it gets" to quote a certain well known marketing slogan.Regards, Carlos
September 22, 200619 yr >Looks very 2D to me.MMMI think the 3rd image tells the story. If you look closely you will see 2 autogen high rises andI would bet my last $ that they are suppose to representthe 2 high rises seen in their real location elseware inthe image.Gee I know which ones look closer to the real thing. evenkeeping in mind the autogen does not have textures.Typical autogen ,in the wrong place and unaturally sharpagainst even the highest quality ground texture.Tassie Devil
