November 17, 20196 yr I never flew much in the Carib, because XP11's default is soooooooooooooooooo bad...BUT...look at the Carib now...at Freeport in the Bahamas! This is the latest version with HD Global textures installed. For $30.00 folks, this shows XP11 default the door, and kicks butt! In this package, you pick up custom autogen that is specific to the region that you are flying in...home achitexture, colors...etc, and the forests are also custom and included, world-wide. I was running with Orbx's TerraFlora, but I really like his newly reworked trees, now featured in the update. So...I am now using Mr. X6's for non Orbx region depictions. This scene has the newly minted forestry.... Orbx Global for Xplane is DEAD-on-non-arrival,...and this is what it might have been, or even better, as we know the output of the FAMOUS, Mr. x6! so........not vapor ware...you can now fly anywhere non-custom in the XP11 world...and enjoy. Mr. X6 will be adding other autogen regions as updates, not having to pay for them...but as updates. The entire Carib is one already installed...as autogen. Enjoy! When I saw that SFD-Global v1.1 was released...ran and got it. This could be almost version 2.0...lol. The forestry is so good...that I deleted Orbx Terra Flora. Very well placed forestry, with such a great variety of (and proper for location) trees...tropical, and such...you might want to grab this. The Carib was always a write-off for me...ghastly as XP11 default squares and rounds...but now...this is absolutely equal to Orbx Global for FSX/P3D. You get up to 3,500...and it is verbatim. I'm going back this morning to explore more of North Cal...but needed to check out the changes in v1.1 and to do that, I had to go to where I have no custom or Ortho4XP. Well, it does do all the world, right now...as for the HD Global ground textures and the great forestry, Pug. What the updates are, is for the auto-gen portion. Even though I am also mostly a U.S. fly boy...just seeing what it has done for such areas as the Carib...really should convince you to enjoy the benefits right now. For instance, before I had this, if I would fly out of KORS from the Washington T.E., and head north....I'd soon see looming up ahead, the clear boundary between what was then, XP default ground textures....but now...it is almost seamless. So there is one benefit that can be had right now. I did buy Orbx Terra Flora, and while it is a good stand alone over XP Default forestry...I find that the v1.1 SFD Global forestry to be superior. Also, as Mr. X6 states on his support forum, it is totally customized to blend in perfectly with his offering. Take a look at the Carib above...and you can see how well that has been accomplished.
