In my experience, their mroe recent releases have been a lot mroe performance friendly, so whatever it is they did differently there, I hope they go back and implement it in NYC. Thanks for looking it up, Jim! Do you have any idea what specifically drains performance at their KJFK? It's a little surprising to me as the terminals are not particularly detailed and the textures are rather generic and seemingly not very high resolution. This is especially true for LGA, and also EWR isn't that great. I really don’t know. A lot of DD sceneries are just brutal on performance and there are no options to disable any details in them to at least gain frame rate. Interestingly though I have DD WashingtonX and that one runs great.
November 18, 20196 yr Can't speak for JFK as I avoid NYC. However, i have an 8700k @ 5.0 with HT off and a 2080. I get 60fps on 1080p through most of NA. Very cloudy skies and bigger cities bring it down to no lower than 30 on approach at times. I mainly fly A2A's Civ p51 with F1 GTN650, so not the most demanding of aircraft systems. I'm guessing your main issue is a combination of maxed out settings, flying in NYC, with a PMDG aircraft.. Lowering LOD and autogen buildings might help smooth it out.

It seems a little low...but honestly depending on the other settings (autogen especially, dynamic lighting, reflections etc) and if you have AI traffic and weather at the same time... could be normal. I still get about 20-25 fps in heavy scenery (example Orbx Socal, FSDT KLAX, ASP4 weather plus ENVTEX shaders) 1080P at 8xSSAA, plus some addon aircraft. Here's my post about changing to a 1080 Ti - the scenery in the pics is FlightBeam KMSP and I've found it to be pretty good on fps...please note I have NO ai traffic though. Especially Seattle bas been a good performer, but even Chicago works well. As you say, Washington is also good, but it’s less complex than the others. The bigger problem for me is NYC, and I guess it’s just because it’s an older product that may not be as optimized as the newer ones. November 19, 20196 yr It’s not so much the cities as it is some of the airports. JFK and KORD (facing certain directions) are the two worst for me. LGA, EWR, SEA work alright for me, not the best performance but what I’d call acceptable.
