Standard is pretty much for gamers and folks who don't do addons.Deluxe is a more realistic price point for MS - and relies on some very good features - the G1000 does it for me.There is also a huge ego factor with the Deluxe version - and that works to get extra $ from me also...

Here is the airport list at least: Stolen from another threadHigh-detail AirportsThere are over 24,000 real-world airports modeled in Flight Simulator. We've selected specific airports to model in detail. Below is a list of the high-detail airports, along with their city and ICAO identifier. Use the airport name, international identifier, or city name to find the airport in the airport list.Note: All airports in the list below are high-detail in Flight Simulator Deluxe version. The airports marked with an asterisk (*) in the list are include in the Standard version but in normal detail.City, Country/RegionAirport Name International Identifier Amsterdam, NetherlandsSchiphol EHAM Anchorage, USAStevens Anchorage PANC Auckland, NZAuckland NZAA Beijing, ChinaBeijing ZBAA Boston, USA*Logan KBOS Chicago, USAChicago O'Hare KORD Copenhagen, DenmarkKastrup EKCH Dallas, USADallas/Fort Worth KDFW Denver, USADenver KDEN Detroit, USA*Detroit Metro Wayne Co. I have released a dozen addons for Flight Simulator, which have been downloaded many times across the Internet. I have numerous planes, sceneries, tweaks, and personally created items.I do addons :)

Just the same it sounds like you made a major mistake in your choice of purchase back in the day. No one knowingly purchases the standard version with the intention of developing. It's always Deluxe or Pro, sorry that's just the facts...

In the future, if you want to download user-made planes and other add-ons, many will use gauges and files only in the Deluxe. With the standard version you would be out of luck and unable to get those files so it would affect things if you plan to download a lot of user-made add-ons.

Without endorsing it....Those SDK;s will be on MS website before long, they wont just include sdk's with the pro/deluxe version for too long I dont think, as m$ rely hugely on the developer stuff to get people more 'in' to fs for the next version to come along.

This never changed.

If I'm understanding the differences it seems to me that if one is not a dev, and interested primarily in 3rd party payware heavies like PMDG etc, then standard is the way to go.More cities, default planes(even G1000 equipped) is no loss for someone, like me, interested only in the basic platform.regards,Markhttp://www.precisionmanuals.com/images/forum/747400.jpgXPHomeSP2/FS9.1/3.2HT/1024mb/X700pro256
