Chart not displayed in Pilot2ATC

Featured Replies

Aviation sectional charts no longer display after moving pilot2atc onto a new computer.  Adobe Reader DC is installed on the C drive, designated the default program for pdf's.  Any suggestions will be appreciated.

Will try.  Thx.

No joy displaying Av Charts.  Unable to locate/identify specific setting in Reader DC for exclusivity.  Have set it as default app for all pdf's in the Windows settings.

What file type is the av chart?  Thinking I may have a conflicting setting with Adobe Acrobat Pro on this computer.

The charts are PDFs.

In the free Adobe Acrobat Reader DC, you select Edit->Preferences in the menu and a large dialog/window opens.

At the bottom of this preferences window, there is a button names "Select as Default PDF Handler" and a checkbox to "Tell me if Adobe Acrobat Reader is not my default PDF application".

You need to press the button and check the option box, then press OK to save these settings.

I have the av charts now.  Many thanks.  🤗

I really appreciate how Dave is on top of his product, knows how to fix it, and promptly responds to questions.

And Dave, is it ok to use another pdf program like Sumatra, or must I use the dreaded Adobe?

I believe if you want integrated charts, you have to put up with it 😉

I got Adobe installed. But I was wondering why when I file a flight plan, it is displayed on a bank white screen. I thought maybe it would be on top of an IFR chart or something.

If you have trouble with Adobe, many users have switched to a PDF Reader named Foxit Reader.

Dave, interesting - does that mean Foxit can be used to view charts in the TERPs window too, or is this still limited to Adobe?

This seems to be an old issue that is resolved for most people, but I'm still experiencing it.  I previously changed from cht to some other mode like sat and back to restore the VFR chart.  Now, that doesn't work.  I checked the Adobe reader to ensure that it is the default .pdf viewer.  I'm not sure what could have changed to cause this.  All of my other map mode options work fine.  Thanks.
