Wanting to buy RXP GTN 750/650 but not sure (JF PA-28R)?

Featured Replies

....if it will work and fit perfectly with this plane (PA-28R Arrow):

https://www.justflight.com/product/pa28r-turbo-arrow-iii-iv

The description of the plane mentions full integration with the F1 version only but I understand the web site description may not be up to date.

Can someone confirm full integration between RXP's version and the plane?  Thank you.

Hardware: i7-8700k, GTX 1070-ti, 32GB ram, NVMe/SSD drives with lots of free space.
Software: latest Windows 10 Pro, P3Dv4.5+, FSX Steam, and lots of addons (100+ mostly Orbx stuff).

I do not own the plane.. but if a F1 GTN is supported, you can quite easily replace it by the equivalent RXP GTN, using the provided app that can be started from the FSX/P3D Add-on menu.

Yes, F1 is supported.  Is it going to end up with full integration (no extraneous bezels)?  And if yes, will this be true to other planes  which have F1 GTN support?  Thank you.

Did you do a Google search?  From JustFlight's own support pages.  (look for the text I changed to blue)
The change log is for xPlane.  I have to imagine they supported the FSX/P3D version at an earlier date.  I just did not spend the time to look for it also.

Like all other good things... That does not necessarily mean it will be effortless.

You can choose a NO_BEZEL option for the virtual cockpit...

I have not found an airplane with F1 GTN support that does not work equally well with an RXP GTN..  as a matter of fact, that is all I use at present.

@Bert Pieke

Just the info I was looking for. I wish JustFlight would update their web page. I try to keep my assumptions to a minimum.  More so since the name of the game is no returns or refunds on purchases. Thank you both.

This does say:

F1 GTN and GNS integration in the virtual cockpit (F1 GTN/GNS sold separately)

https://www.justflight.com/product/pa28r-turbo-arrow-iii-iv

SO, if the F1 GTN is supported, the RXP unit should work also.. at least from my experience with their TB20 Tobago.

Yes but the buttons will not work unless if you use the F1 to RXP buttons panel mods. The PA28 does not natively support the RXP like the FlySimware L35 or A2A C172.

Agreed, but that can be touched up... all the information is in this forum (and there are always users willing to help..)

OK, one step at a time...

The RXP GTN works in your RealAir aircraft, check?

In the Arrow, the pop window works, check?

But the VC gauge is missing? Is dark?

Can you post the contents of the Vcockpit sections from the Arrow panel.cfg file?

Bert

Thanks bert will do tomorrow evening but correct on all fronts

As you can tell by reading the Vcockpit lines, you have the F1 GTN installed in the panel (twice, one 650 and one 750).

Try this:

[Vcockpit03]
Background_color=0,0,0
size_mm=512,512
visible=1
pixel_size=512,512
texture=$GPS100

//gauge00=JF_PA28R!GPS100,  0,0,347,95

....

//--------------------------------------------------------

[Vcockpit05]
size_mm=1024,1024
pixel_size=1024,1024
texture=$GTN650
background_color=0,0,0

//gauge00=F1GTN!GTN650VC, 0,0,677,297,UNIT1
gauge01=JF_PA28R!GTN, 1,1,1,1

//--------------------------------------------------------

[Vcockpit06]
size_mm=1024,1024
pixel_size=1024,1024
texture=$GTN750
background_color=0,0,0

gauge00=rxpGTN!GTN_750_1, 0,0,677,794,NO_BEZEL
