Skydemom is strictly VFR has charts for a lot of the world though is Europe-centric

Not sure I agree completely.

You can get Airway /RNAV map view instead of VFR sectional view in Skydemon.

If you enable IFR features in "planning options" you will get all instrument plates for the airport, published by the national CAA. Approach plates are geo-referenced.

Screenshot below with said features turned on and with planned legs /actual track overlay (from a real flight)

Also if you file IFR/Mixed rules, Skydemon will include any IFR NOTAM relevant to your flight.

Granted it's not on par with FF or Garmin Pilot, but you can easily use it as a PPL(A) IR holder.

Thanks SAS,, nutz I've used Skydemon pretty much since it was released and never even noticed that it had an IFR functions option.

I'm just a plain VFR Puddle jumper so no point me turning on this option but crazy I never even saw it was there

I never knew this!  I like SkyDemon but always thought it was VFR only. Thanks for the correction!

I don't understand this thread at all.   Yes, you have to use a plug-in, but ForeFlight works just like it should.  You get traffic, runway alerts, airspace warnings, and anything you would in a plane.  vbazillio mentioned getting runway alerts, but, just as your video shows, I get those runway alerts in ForeFlight in MSFS2020.  🤔

I use fs2ff.exe and it works perfectly.  Its a 1,016 byte file.  Certainly not using memory.
