October 11, 200619 yr hi,as a picture speaks a thousand words...does anybody know what causes this?this is not the only block of grey,a few miles further there's another.this is using FS2004,RJGG_V2.zip.i've tried a number of things but i dunno what this is,thus my efforts are fruitless.cheersJp.
October 12, 200619 yr Author I'm sorry, but I don't think it's clear what "this" is. October 12, 200619 yr Jan,Although I do not see what you are pointing out (not clear from pic), but from what I understand certain scenery attributes will not work in FSX like solid colour lines.Shez Shez Ansari Windows 11; CPU: Intel Core i7-8700K; GPU: EVGA GEFORCE GTX 1080Ti 11GB; MB: Gigabyte Z370 AORUS Gaming 5; RAM: 16GB; HD: Samsung 960 Pro 512GB SSD, Samsung 850 Pro 256GB SSD; Display: ASUS 4K 28", Asus UHD 26"
October 12, 200619 yr i'll make it clearer by some more pictures then :)i have more pictures,it seems most airports are now surrounded by a big taxiwaytexture.it IS textured, but not how it should be.any suggestions?this is in japan using a freeware mesh scenery and some freeware airports.only addon airport working is RJAF,the ones looking like this are all around Tokyoi have removed stuff, upped en downed layer numbers, etc, but i can't figure it out.appreciate help.oh and Shez,my pc would immediately turn into smoke if i ran fs-x on it :)system:xp pro,amd1800xp palomino,768mb pc2100,GF 4 TI4200,nothing overclocked or modded.cheersJP.
October 12, 200619 yr Interesting, so this is in FS2004 then. Looks like some rogue polygon.Shez Shez Ansari Windows 11; CPU: Intel Core i7-8700K; GPU: EVGA GEFORCE GTX 1080Ti 11GB; MB: Gigabyte Z370 AORUS Gaming 5; RAM: 16GB; HD: Samsung 960 Pro 512GB SSD, Samsung 850 Pro 256GB SSD; Display: ASUS 4K 28", Asus UHD 26"
October 12, 200619 yr Hallo Jan,That gray is not a taxiway texture, but rather a fallback color. It looks like the game cannot find the correct textures there. This situation is typical of missing custom (photo-real) ground textures. Do these airports by any chance include custom ground textures around the airports? If so, they are either missing or not installed correctly.Best regards.Luis Hot, humid Caribbean paradise!
October 12, 200619 yr thanks guys,i'll investigate further, but afaik these airports do not use custom ground textures.i may however be wrong.but, that gray stuff IS a texture,i see them filling in so it's not untextured.it's just...well...gray :/it's kinda strange, and sad too,'cos i really like flying around Japan.back to the detective work it is.i'll report back :)cheersJP.
October 12, 200619 yr J,I think Luis is onto something..It's either a missing photo texture or a landclass problem...Does it use a custom LC file? Does it use a photo texture?RhettAMD 3700+, eVGA 7800GT 256, ASUS A8N-E, PC Power 510 SLI, 2 GB Corsair XMS 3-3-3-8, etc. etc. Rhett 7800X3D ♣ 96 GB G.Skill Flare ♣ Gigabyte 4090 ♣ Crucial P5 Plus 2TB
October 13, 200619 yr yep so do i Rhett, but sofar i have not found anything yet.the search continues however, and i have it at least narrowed down to one of those 2,so i should be able to solve it.however, afaik none of my sceneries use LC or custom textures, but, there are some strange files inthere.on to search more.thanks guys, and please, keep the suggestions coming :)cheersJP.
