Aerosoft's Mega Airport Munich FSX in P3D4 - How to install?

Featured Replies

I was wondering whether it's possible to install the FSX version into P3Dv.4. I'm posting this here, since this isn't officially supported by Aerosoft. I found a post suggesting creating a new folder, copying the P3Dexe into this folder, then pointing the installer to this location, and then activating the scenery in the
scenery library.

Before I mess up my P3D installation, has anyone tried this out. Am I missing a step?

Also, I have the Lisbon edition, as well, and was wondering whether anyone had installed that successfully into P3D.

Thanks

Can't help you there. But at least for Lisbon there is a P3dV4 version available.

It is possible to link scenery to another flight sim using the scenery config I had FSX scenery linked to FSW that way if it causes a problem you just delete the entry in the config,

I know, and there is a Munich version from Taxi2Gate.

It would be nice, though, to not have to rebuy them.

I tried that but it didn't work.

Ah some would not show in FSW that's 64bit FSX is 32bit some would and some would not I had FSX FB KSFO showing FSW but FSDT airports would not, other option create an addon scenery folder copy and past the scenery and the texture folder into that folder start P3D it may ask you to activate, again any problem delete the folders.

Hello,

If you don't want to mess up P3D and keep it clean, do it the "proper" way:

But I honestly wouldn't bother. I recently tried adding the old AS EDDM, and most of the buildings were missing. That scenery is not compatible with P3D V4.

Best regards

@Lorby_SI Thanks. I tried it this way, but it didn't work. I suppose  I'm gonna have to cough up the money and rebuy the sceneries.

What does that mean exactly? Was the scenery there but incomplete or not there at all?

That parts of the ground and buildings are missing is not an installation error - they are just not compatible with P3D V4 and the sim will not show them.

Best regards

In my first attempt, the runways were there, but looked like muddy grass strips. In my second, I had an airplane crash upon loading the scenery. It seems the scenery is really not compatible, so I'm gonna have to open up my wallet again.

Afraid so.

There are only so many things that can go wrong when installing and linking a scenery if it is done according to specification.

In the current state of P3D it is probably safer to assume that a legacy FSX scenery will not work, and save yourself the trouble going beyond one or two attempts.

Best regards

Yeah, true, in addition I can't use Aerosoft's generous "upgrade paths" because a) Aerosoft hasn't made a Mega Airport Munich for P3D4 and b) the Lisbon scenery for P3D4 wasn't made by Aerosoft.

I use T2gate EDDM it has updated installers for P3Dv4.

I posted a few minutes ago that Aerosoft EDDM was working on my system... apparently that was back with P3Dv4.3. I had no tested it under P3Dv4.5 and I just checked it and I have the same Ground Poly issues reported here.

Sorry for any confusion.
