Elevated airports

Featured Replies

Hey! When I was flying to Paris Charles de gaulle, I noticed that the entire airport has been moved up from the ground level a bit. I notice this at airports around Paris. I have looked away in Dusseldorf too but noticed nothing strange there. I have no airport scenery installed or anything. All I have is Orbx global and europe. But if it had had to do with it, would it have been so all over Europe? Does anyone know how I can solve this?

Sincerely Axel

!This also happens when i'm flies to brussels and Luxembourg!

I have the same occur at some airports, use same Orbx products plus FSGlobal mesh.

In Orbx Vector settings you can lookup airports and apply Airport Elevation Correction which works for some airports - some it messes up. Those it messes up I remove it and install the terrain correction from FsGlobal...

My copy of FSGlobal is 2010 so I had to order the corrections from them - comes on DVD. I think the later versions might have it on DVD though, look for a directory called AFM.

You only want to install the files for problem airports though as it merges the terrain to the airport height rather than corrects the height of the airport.

I only use it on airports that AEC makes a mess of...

Ok, on LHKV (FTX) I see strange slope of mesh here:

Id like to solve it, maybe with ADE https://www.scruffyduck.org/airport-design-editor/4584106799 .

Vector doesnt solve it.
