March 6, 20206 yr Win 10 Pro OEM disc--comes with this wretched approach communicating the fricking product key--the web is full of complaints of people scratching too deep, destroying characters in the process. I did peel back the label over top of it to reveal the pink layer. How the heck do I reveal the key w/o destroying it? I tried googling the topic and found nothing but complaints, no solutions....help! I tried scratch gently w/ a guitar pick but didn't remove the pink just put grooves in it. Horrendous trick by MS! March 7, 20206 yr Author I took a very sharp knife on its edge and gently scraped off the thin pink film. There was no key under it, and I did not scratch any characters off as there are none. March 7, 20206 yr Author It was MS' idea of how to frustrate people unnecessarily. Turns out it was the very small silver banner that it was under, the pink coating was a ruse. Newegg chat support helped me thankfully I was puzzled for over an hour and a half! March 7, 20206 yr My OEM windows 10 came on a stick and the product key by email to activate it, now saved on a stick. Raymond Fry.

Precisely well stated as Microsoft and its Windows 'really-we-would-like-to-sell-you-xxxx-from-our-friends' policy, as it is no longer the pre-10 OSes, which were purely that---Operating Systems, not bloatware add-ons to flog. In fact, it does STINK. I can see them getting a big slap from the EU just as they previously did with their IE blocking other browsers. Rick Almeida
