Ask Dave to send the program in a Zip file. The Zip file worked for me.

Ok!There is the link, and instructions should be avalaible in MS KB soon:http://download.microsoft.com/download/1/c.../MSKB928080.exe1. Click on the link above, when you receive the File Download dialog box, click Save.2. When done double-click the MSKB928080.exe file that you have saved to your hard disk.3. When you are prompted to accept the license agreement, click Yes.4. Extract the files to the following folder: C:MicrosoftKB9280805. Run the Software Licensing System Reset Tool. To do this, click Start, click Run, type C:MicrosoftKB928080resetsldl -All in the Open box, and then click OK.6. Reinstall the product. Note: You can delete the tool after you have successfully installed the product. Thanks to Dave.

Luis,Thanks for providing the link, my ethical dilemma is solved. Thanks to Dave T. also for releasing this for general use.

I can't believe that MS has not posted this Tool on any of there sites yet! Has anybody seen this on the web yet?

Thank you,I noticed it after I posted. So far the first attempt failed. So I have to double check everything on the install, and try again. And thank you Luis for posting the fix.

I have just done as instructions, and the install has yet again failed with error 1772 and error 1603 at end of rollback. This is getting a little wearing now, after paying

Woohoo! It works! It took a while but I got the game back!

What exactly did you do, i still keep getting the error 1772 at the end of disk 2 install?Paul

Same here. The Path seems to end at the C disk. That is where I found the Microsoft KB 928080. Does it by any chance go to C:Windows, where all the rest of the KB's are loaded?

It worked for me (FINALLY! THANK GOLLY!). Make sure you run the full command line and don't just run the program by clicking on it.Now... OFF TO THE SKIES!

You download, double click where saved, it will ask where you extract, leave that location. Click Start --> Run --> copy and paste the following in quotes "C:MicrosoftKB928080resetsldl -All" --> click OK, let the computer work for a few seconds, try and install the game.

KurtCheers mate, finally got it going after 5 days of pulling my hair out.Paul

Thank you I will try again.I think that the fact that the original FSX install didn't have a working Un-install program, has my system so screwed up, it won't re-install!
