Question about EA (Enhanced Atmospherics)

Recommended Posts

No. I usually get my fluffy CU clouds despite the atmosphere IRL would just be able to muster Status clouds. No real Cirrus clouds either, which is a shame.

Sounds about like my experience then.

Good if you can use high res 2D clouds. Some can't so they will see pixelated clouds much sooner.

That I agree with you.

But perhaps using a lower resolution shadows or less shadow range, or not using object shadows can compensate for that...

How do yours and suanameister and many others.

show the truesky v clouds fluffier more defined.

Mine on 5.1 hf1 no shaders stick truesky

clouds look deformed see through no definition around edges. And yes also waffle looking but that’s with most of us.

hence why I am back on v4.5 but would like to use 5.1 truesky.

any help is appreciated.

cheers

We all use VolumetricClouds.cfg tweaks to make clouds look better. Active Sky P3D has one built-in too.

PC specs: i5-12400F, RTX 3070 Ti and 32 GB of RAM.

Simulators I'm using: X-Plane 12, Microsoft Flight Simulator (2020) and FlightGear.

Hi,

yes I have tried the asp3d one also.

I’ll have to see what settings need to be changed in volumetric cfg file

thanks

I'm not too experienced with it as I like default ASP3D one, ask @GSalden, I think he has many modifications for VolumetricClouds.cfg

Currently I am using the ASP3D one as that one does a very good job in “hiding” the grid.

Is that the ASP3D beta one or previous stable one? If it's the beta, is high details mode enabled?

Wow! That looks fantastic.

Fingers crossed we get more variety and more than just 2 cloud layers in the next version.

Now that's really interesting... It indeed looks like it's from P3D v5.2:
