Hi guys, i know PC posts are annoying but i'm about to buy this and just wondering if there is anything I've overlooked/wont work together.

It's the first time I've ever customized and order and so I'm very worried I've missed something/got too many things that won't all fit inside.

I'd be most grateful of any comments!

Best,

Andrew

Good choices. BUT. In about 2-3 weeks Intel are releasing new CPU’s requiring a new motherboard. The replacement for the 9000k is looking very  interesting at possibly the same or lower price. If you can, wait for this release. I always figure buying a new PC should last the next 3-5 years so with that in mind and so close to the next big thing I would wait.

Cheers

The M2SSD: 256GB Intel H10 M.2 PCIe NVMe SSD is a bit small for a flight simulation install and not all that fast (two controllers, QLC NAND)... TBH for a few dollars more you could do much better.  And the Intel Wireless 3168 WiFi card is rather weak.  If you have a reasonably fast connection (100Mbps+) w/ AC WiFi capabilites and adding WIFI to the motherboard is important you should think about a faster card (at least 800Mbps for the 5 Ghz band) or upgrading to a Z390 board that comes with AC WiFi.

Good luck and have fun!

Thanks both for this,

lownslo, I had since actually changed the 256GB M2 SSD for a  250GB () Samsung 970 EVO Plus M.2 PCIe NVMe SSD. That SSD isn't going to be used for flight sim, just for windows. The flight sim will go on the 1TB M2 SSD.

With regards to the wifi, at the moment, I don't have a particularly fast  wifi connection (16.2 Mbps), so i'm unsure how that will affect that particular card.

Thanks again!

Looks good to me.  I agree about possibly waiting for new CPUs but overall your selections are good!

If you consider opting for an ASUS RTX Graphics card instead of the MSI version it will be more compatible with your ASUS motherboard.  For example, you will be able to use ASUS Aura software to synchronise the RGB lighting of them both. Their Strix series products also work well.

Incidentally, Asus produce a separate WiFi card for this Mobo as you probably realise, although why you would want to purchase a motherboard without built in WiFi as standard intrigues me when this consideration seems to be a particular concern for you.
