May 10, 20206 yr Wondering if anyone knows if there is any scenery config type editor to add scenery to V5? I've tried the current one by repathing to V5 but unfortunately it screws up the scenery config. Seems the file now appears to be type UCS-2 LEBOM. Not interested in xml. May 10, 20206 yr The other Scenery Config Editor is still working but beware that it only handles classic scenery.cfg entries. So Lorby's is the one to go with if you want to also manage the xml method. Hans
May 10, 20206 yr I got some Justsim I would love to install but I just can't warp my brain around the xml method. Maybe I need to stop having a shot of bourbon when am trying to study Lorby Si’s Addon Organizer method. Maurice J I9 12900k \ EVGA 3080ti \ G-Skill 32GB \ Samsung 4K TV
May 10, 20206 yr Author Well there is a lot of scenery out there that doesn't require an xml file. eXtensible Markup Language (xml) is not something that everyone understands, also many developers create their installers that don't place the scenery where you want it and needing to move them and amend the xml file, Always thought this was the wrong way to go and much prefer scenery configuration software that can be linked quickly to the scenery.cfg . This issue may well prevent me to continue following the V5 progress but in the future. if some developer creates software with an easy interface, similar to the current scenery config editor, that will allow me to select a folder and quickly generate an add-on.xml for all its contents, then I'll consider it. Lorby's works but found it too confusing and dificult to understand. My personal opinion and totally respect other's choice. It's very easy once you get the idea, but at first I was lost as well. PM me if necessary, happy to help. I am on CEST time, so off soon but back in about 9 hours. Hans
December 6, 20214 yr Another alternative for scenery management (but it does an awful lot more!) is the payware SimstarterNG. Very powerful piece of software, can't live without it!
December 6, 20214 yr I like SimStarter too. I find adding scenery with it very easy. However, it is payware. So I would make sure you want some of the other features too. There is an excellent -- if very long -- tutorial video on YouTube. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QW334rQN4FI&t=6503s Edited December 6, 20214 yr by Iadbound
