May 11, 20206 yr got back into real flying now. My firend has a Garmin 530w in plane. So for practice I like to know what I have to do to use Reality XP Garmin 530 panel in flight simulator. I still have Windows XP SP3 and FS9 installed Went to the Reality website. Says something about $35 for license. Is that the price I need to pay to download the software. Also need to know if it will wortk for me Any help greatly appreciated
May 11, 20206 yr Yes, you will have to purchase and install the RXP GNS 530 for FSX. http://reality-xp.com/store/index.html Second question is: Which airplane? Some airplanes come with built in support for a GNS 530, for others it may be tricky or not possible to install a GNS into the cockpit panel.. Tell us what you are looking for, and someone here can help, I am sure.. Edited May 11, 20206 yr by Bert Pieke Bert
May 11, 20206 yr Author So I just purchase lice and download the software. So FS( I would download FSX one. Just wanted to use in some of the fefault places like C-172. Also have a Carranado Seneca which would like to use it on and a Citation II from Eaglesoft, all old technology. Not upgrading my system yet because waiting for MSFS2020

Not upgrading my system yet because waiting for MSFS2020 Does the Carenado Seneca support a GNS 530 in the panel, or does it have dual GNS 430s? The default C172 does not support a GNS 530 to be added.. other than a popup window, which may just be OK.. depending on your needs. Otherwise, it might make sense to purchase an inexpensive addon plane specifically for your training requirements.. Bert

May 11, 20206 yr Author Popup is okay. Last question It states $35 for the lincense. So gives you authority then to download the software and install? There is no other costs?
May 11, 20206 yr Please note: There are other GNS in our store page. These are legacy e-commerce installers customers of these products wanting to reinstall. The correct GNS you'd purchase is the genuine Reality XP GNS 540/430 V2 Which you can download directly from our home page here:http://reality-xp.com/index2.html#pricing It is compatible with WinXP up to Win10 and FS9 up to P3D5 Edited May 11, 20206 yr by RXP
May 11, 20206 yr Author Went to page So down this one thru e-commerce and will work with FS9 and windows-xp Special Sale $49.95 $ 35.00 /license * Add 2nd GNS product for only $24.95 GNS 530W V2 FltSim*
May 12, 20206 yr In the post above, JL said It is compatible with WinXP up to Win10 and FS9 up to P3D5 BTW.. the Alabeo airplanes I referred to earlier likely do not have this support.. sorry! Edited May 12, 20206 yr by Bert Pieke Bert
May 13, 20206 yr Author Just to make sure, I can use this as a popup on any aircraft correct? Will it install and then I can just do Shift-3 and the Reality GPS will pop up instead of default?

If somebody can confirm since want to download it and try it out, Any comments It is slightly more complicated than that... It is done individually for each aircraft. You will have to read the User Guide for instructions, and if you add the GNS, using the RXP app, it will add a new window to your panel.cfg file. If you want it as shift+3, replacing your current GPS, you can instead edit the panel.cfg file with Notepad and change Window02 (which pops up with shift+3). Example for the C172: [Window02] size_mm=456,378 window_size=0.5 position=8 BACKGROUND_COLOR=0,0,0 VISIBLE=0 ident=GPS_PANEL zorder=4 //gauge00=fs9gps!gps_500, 0,0 gauge00=rxpGNS2!GNS_530_1, 0, 0,456,378 Bert
