Tons of small businesses and a good number of big businesses are not able to survive the shut downs and economic fallout of this pandemic.  Very sad.

While reading that story, I happened to scroll down and read an article about a lot of our pork is being exported to China.

What I didn't know however is that Tyson is owned by a Chinese firm...

Well the problem is that for years China has been buying everything. Hold on to your britches. This is just getting started. This is WW3 in the context of MAD

I agree. Anyone who thinks this is going to get better before it gets worse just doesn't understand what's going on.

The issue will be starting up after such a long  down time due lost training.

I know at my airline the issue is going to be the pilots annual line checks.  The 90 day recency can be done in the sim and has been .  Our sims have been running each day,  18 hours a day doing pilot  recency checks for T/O and landings. For guys missing their 3 landings in 90 days and opc/lpc

Pilot Medicals have been extended 6 months by the CAA, but... the big issue is going to be annual line checks.

Our tre/tri captains can obviously only be either in the sim doing recency or opc/lpc, or out on the line doing annual line checks.  They can't be in both places.

The problem when things start flying again is  the flight  crew are all going to be out of Check, not out of recency.

I'n the UK we've been selling everything over to the Chinese since the 70s.

Cameron and Osborne couldn't get enough of it they wanted to sell the lot to them. People have forgotten about hinckley point
