No Voices with UGCX P3D V4.5

I am running the latest 1.9 UGCX and I hear NO voices.¬† Every time there should be a voice heard, the P3D sounds go lower for about the time it would take for UGCX to play the voice file, but nothing is heard ūüėě

Ok, I reinstalled the full 1.9 version, but nothing changed.  I hear all the P3D sounds, just not voices in UGCX.  It is set accordingly in the options.  But like I said, for some reason the sounds go lower when the text shows what should be heard; I just hear no voice at all.  It worked flawlessly weeks before.  I just have no idea what changed to cause this to occur?!

The only thing different really, is that I have both P3D V4.5 AND V5 installed.  I don't believe I installed UGCX for V5, but I will check later tonight, in case that could cause any conflict?!

Hi Bruce,

4.5 and 5 makes no difference; they're seperate.

What happens when you run the Audio test?

Try updating your audio driver or reverting to an older version.

 

Also this:


Problem: The FO's volume is jumpy.

Solution:
 

  1. Go to Control Panel -> Hardware and Sound -> Sound -> Communications.  Select "Do Nothing" when Windows detects communications activity and click apply.

Problem: When I'm flying with FS2Crew running, if I change to the desktop and then change the task back to FSX/P3D, I lose my FS2Crew sounds.

Solution (Based on Windows 7 / 8 ūüėě

  1. Right click on the speaker in the taskbar (lower right near the clock).
  2. Go up to "Playback Devices".
  3. Right click on the audio device that is in use for your FS2Crew and go to "Properties".
  4. Now click on the "Advanced" tab at the top.
  5. Now uncheck the two boxes as shown below.

I have done all that, but still no luck.  I hear everything when I use GSX, so I am not sure why UGCX does play voices?!?

And when I run the audio test, all I hear is ambient wind/air conditioning sounds slowly get louder then go back to normal volume, for about 5 seconds.  Am I supposed to hear voices there?!

The audio test is an increasing chime sound.

I think I know your problem.

For the UGCX language selection, select English United States, not Canada.


Canada is a known bug that will be fixed in the next update.

S, I tried everything and nothing fixes the sound issues??!!¬† I am not sure where to go from here ūüė쬆 I will just keep using GSX fro pushback, until there is some idea on how this can be fixed for me.¬† I liked UGCX, but that only applies when it works.

Can you go to the UGCX.ini file's content and see what's the setting for the following entries:

  • Volume=8
  • LanguageID=409
  • SoundPack=US

What language did you set in UGCX?

The UGCX.ini is located here:

C:\Users\<Your username>\AppData\Roaming\Ultimate Ground Crew X

Hmmm....I don't seem to have a "UGCX.ini" file in that directory?!¬† But, I assume you mean "Ultimate Ground Crew X.INI" ūüėČ

Yes, my settings are set to:

  • Volume=10
  • LanguageID=409
  • SoundPack=US

Try posting your UGCX.LOG file's content, maybe something is failing during initialization

Ok the log looks good, but I need you to locate the aircraft at a parking spot then request pushback and after that, go to the UGCX.log and paste the contents here, so I can see if when it loads the scenery airport cache there is an issue with the sound mechanism.

This problem also could be related to regional sounds sets being loaded, can you remmember the airport's ID where you didn't hear voices?

Also does this happens on ALL airports you go?...because if it's in some then it could be the regional sounds set initialization file..

I can tell from this event in the log that the regional sounds are being loaded because of the regional options being checked.

Tried KGEG, same result :(  I am just angry now that this is not functional.  I appreciate all the help, but I think I will just continue to use GSX2 for everything; it works 100% with no sound issues.  I really want to enjoy BOTH programs, but I am getting too old and tired to waste hours trying to get UGCX to work.  Someday maybe I will try again, unless you see something in the log below?!
