June 3, 20206 yr Hi everyone, I recently upgraded to V5 and had 4.5 with ASP4D working like a dream, so I thought I'd try the new beta. So far it absolutely refuses to work correctly. The control panel says showers and overcast but the display in game is a clear blue sky with light clouds and no wind. Completely contrary to what the panel says or even the ingame weather report. Some things to note: I have GSX and SODE working as normal and FSUIPC 6 so that suggests to me it isn't a SimConnect problem (i also installed and re-installed them several times, ERP, Xpack1 and 2) Minimal addons that could conflict IE I have ORBX and majestic dash 8 and some addon airports but thats it other than mentioned above. I am running Enhanced Atmosphere I tried uninstalling and installing it again to see if that worked but no avail. UPDATE: I switched to historic weather, and again no change in game whatsoever. The green weather update bar for activesky appears but the sky and clouds don't shift at all. Please any help would be appreciated! P.S. I realise this is a BETA but other people have had it working fine which means it must be something my end but I can't work it out... Edited June 3, 20206 yr by Columnsx
June 3, 20206 yr Hi, one thing to bear in mind. Enhanced Atmospherics (EA) is still in BETA. ASP3D is still in BETA. That means you can expect problems with them unitl they are no longer BETA. June 3, 20206 yr I have problems with historical weather too. Sometimes it is correct, but every once in a while I get "no weather" at all, means clear skys no clouds no wind. - Harry 9800x3D (Strix x870e-E) - 64GB RAM (DDR5 6000, CL 30) - RTX 5090, 34'' 1440p OLED HDR - Windows 11 Pro (1TB M.2) - MSFS 2024 (MS Store, 4TB M.2).
June 3, 20206 yr I don't think ASP3D uses simconnect anymore, it installs its own connector - see if you have this file in your ASP3D folder: ASP3DV5ConnectorInstall.exe - if you truly have no weather at all maybe run that as admin? It will create a folder in your addons folder called \Prepar3D v5 Add-ons\ActiveSkyP5 which contains the connector dll and several other things like a weather folder, sounds, etc. Do you have that folder in your addons and is it active in the addons in the sim? Also check that in settings "suppress local weather changes" is unchecked. I have a feeling this may be active on the ground in certain situations. June 4, 20206 yr Anyone else having an issue whereby selecting P3d v5 without asp3d it asks to add addon XML ? mike
