June 8, 20205 yr Moderator Has anyone used this site to update the default navaids and airport ICAO / name in both FSX and P3D? https://aero.sors.fr/navaids3.html I was made aware of its existence after posting on the Aivlasoft forum. I had an airport conflict with Dhaka, Bangladesh. The airport ICAO and name in P3D is VGZR - Zia Intl but when I planned the flight in PFPX it couldn't find that ICAO and after a search I found it is now named VGHS - Hazrat Shahjalal Intl. Airport. ASP3Dv4 returns weather for both ICAOs with a note that the info is identical. The current ICAO is VGHS with a change of airport name. Presumably Gen Zia fell out of favour. This site allows the user to update the default navaids including changes of airport ICAO and name. It could be extremely useful for many. It's unlikely I'll return to Dhaka as it is part of my world tour but I'm sure there must be other airports that have changed over the years and this is a good way of keeping your sim up to date. The original BGLs are renamed so you still have them. Ray (Cheshire, England). I cannot recall however if the AIE program also corrects a runway identifier visually so your scenery now displays the correct number painted on the concrete. I think it does... June 9, 20205 yr Author Moderator Thanks Mark. I shall be cautious and do a backup first. I’m sure it’s fine as it makes its own backup of the files it replaces but I’m due one anyway. There are multiple packages for the whole world. Do you install them all? I’m currently in Karachi, Pakistan on a world tour so updated data would be very useful. And it looks like it’s updated each AIRAC cycle which is excellent. Ray (Cheshire, England). June 9, 20205 yr I usually grab the World Navaids and the World Update to make sure it's all there. I do not believe that the program automatically updates your navaids when the AIRAC changes. I think you have to download and run the programs again. One note I will add is that when I downloaded the programs for the previous AIRAC 2005. my MS Security Essentials (I run Win 7 64 bit) was giving a false positive for the Airport Inspector and Editor. In my case it was for Win32.Azden.B!cl. The latest Malwarebytes checked out OK. Herve is aware of the false positives issue. https://aerosors.freeforums.net/thread/45/positive-antivirus-warnings-provided-software Mark Robinson Part-time Ferroequinologist Author of FLIGHT: A near-future short story (ebook available on amazon) I made the baby cry - A2A Simulations L-049 Constellation Sky Simulations MD-11 V2.2 Pilot. June 9, 20205 yr Author Moderator Thanks Mark. I can override Avast if it blocks things I know are okay. The readme seems pretty comprehensive so I’ll follow that. I imagine very little changes from one cycle to the next. Ray (Cheshire, England). In addition to what the freeware provides, fsaerodata has updates to all airspaces, comms, approach procedures, SIDs, STARs and waypoints. This makes it identical to the latest AIRAC from Navigraph. The ILS and runway corrections are compatible with P3d5, unlike the freeware. Check the documentation for both packages to see what is most suitable for your needs.

It includes SIDs, STARs and other relevant data. Same with PFPX which I use for planning. The freeware one was recommended by one of the main people at Aivlasoft and as you can see further up is required for FS Labs Airbus. I think that one will be sufficient, thanks. I didn't say it was required for FSL Airbus, I said I needed it to make the sim match but I have also used FSaerodata and in fact I can't remember which the Airbus used/recommended to update the sim. I updated using fsaerodata so that VOXATC would use the correct frequencies. It's a while since I've done it and it was a necessary evil so I haven't stored the details in my memory.

Wrong word used by me. Having installed that freeware package it certainly helps to keep the sim up to date. With Navigraph data in the PMDG737 and EFB, using years old data in P3D is not helpful. Which ever package is used is better than not using any. Ray (Cheshire, England). June 11, 20205 yr Yes, keeping it up to date is a must although when the old waypoint names change I don't like it, as I like to keep things as per 2003 for Concorde. I only did the payware to update comms frequencies and TMA/airspace changes for VoxATC as I mentioned.
June 11, 20205 yr Author Moderator @trumpetfrazz1, I’ve only updated P3Dv4. I bet you still have UPGAS in v3. Ray (Cheshire, England). The best thing about flying Concorde is the INS - it doesn't give a stuff what an "intersection" is called, you have to know and input the coordinates. You also have to know in your head where that coordinate will take you so that if you make a mistake, you spot it before you embarrass yourself! I had updated v3 before v4 came out, but because of the above, Concorde doesn't notice any difference.
