Hi Everyone,

just dropping by to say hello!

very new to realistic flight sim and patiently waiting for FS 2020!

up till this point I have used Aerofly2 as my intro to flight.

looks like an awesome community, wish me luck!

Good luck!  Ireland should look great in the new sim!  A country I have never been to, but would like to go.

Thanks for the kind welcoming!

@Mace you most certainly need to visit Ireland, you will love it!

Good luck, Bandit and enjoy your stay. Looking at your avatar pic, it appears that you race karts... yup.. you're crazy enough to fit in well 🍻

I'm still on FSX:SE so the only way I'll experience a realistic looking Ireland in the sim is to purchase the photoreal add-on until such time as I get a new PC and OS

"Flight Bandit" is a pretty neat handle.  Mine comes from the Royal Maces, a fighter squadron in the USN (VFA-27).

I have always wondered this about Cork -- I have an atlas that has it spelled two ways, "Cork" and "Corcaigh" or something like that.  I assume the latter is the Gaelic or something?   Is that name used, too?

Welcome aboard!  The area around Donegal EIDW looks great in the sim!  I flew EIDL-EGAE retracing my steps that I did by car 9 years ago and it’s really bang on.

A fighter Squadron is pretty awesome!

You are correct, funnily enough I get asked that quite a bit. It's a shame, its our native language but very few people can speak Gaelic fluently.

Cork is down the south of Ireland. we have a great flight school in Cork!

hahaha yes, I race go karts, not as much anymore - getting too fat and too old!

I initially built my PC 4 years ago for "sim racing" but flying has always been my passion!

Welcome MillerBrand.

You could have started your own thread to say hello  Having said that, I hope you enjoy your stay 🍻

Just realized that I assigned Donegal EIDW rather than EIDL, oops!

That's ok, every time I see EIDW the only thing I can think of are Eider Ducks.  Very weird of me.

Hello Ireland. I too have aerofly fs2 2. Did you fly VR with it? It's an excellent sim as well.

Hey Peter, I certainly did. I liked Aerofly FS2 but got bored quite quickly but it's great entry level into the sim flying world!

pity its development is quite slow!

I finally bought mega scenery earth's Ireland, so I'm looking forward to more VFR trips over there. I'm sure I downloaded a Garda paint job for the Flight1 Islander too. Behave yourself, Flight_Bandit..

I noticed that there is a scenery add-on called Cork X - I presume its the airport.

Sorry I'm on about good old FSX:SE
