August 18, 20205 yr I'm an old guy. Been through heaps of versions of this sim, and Combat FS, and Battle of Britain and Il2, and the original Grand Prix by Geoff Crammond and all the versions since, and Nascar and Indy Car etc etc etc.... I'm not as hardcore nonetheless as many of you. Clearly not after reading many of these threads pre and post launch 😉 I also like PC Sims as a release from real life - hobby, enjoyment etc etc. Yes they can be annoying and I see bugs or improvements or frustrations in them all. And enjoy how they improve over time as users and 3rd party developers add on and build a community. My experience yesterday was limited to a few hours last night - flying from my local airport across town, and then to an airport 100 miles south as the sun set over the alps as I followed the highway and watched as lights started coming on, and I recognised landmarks etc etc. And that followed my son touring the world yesterday and learning how to fly (a bit) one of the jets, and asking me if Entebbe airport was well known for something else, and I got to see what it looks like geographically..... Point of this post - I'm delighted with the MFS 2020 - yes I spent time on the ground trying to work stuff out. Spotted glitches etc etc ...... which I have no problem people talking about. But the angst I'm reading on here from many .... thank goodness it's not important like work or life or death eh ? BTW - not intending to wind people up, or criticise (well perhaps gently).
August 18, 20205 yr I couldn't help but whistle the song from your post title!! Well said, by the way! Kris Hague simmer since SubLogic days...
August 18, 20205 yr Many of us paid $120+ for an AAA game (2x the price of most AAA titles) only to be greeted with bugs and glitches. I get that some people paid $1 for the Xbox Game Pass trial but please don't tell me I shouldn't demand a finished product for $120. It's amateur.

If this ticks you off, just wait until you hear about what's happening at companies like Bethesda EA. Maybe FS2020 should have included lootcrates, just so people have something to complain about other than bugs and glitches. By the way, there has never been a software to launch without bugs and glitches.

This is 2020 so consider software NEVER completed but ALWAYS improved. That is how product is sold these days. For the first next-level game I'm surprised it went off this well. I expected EVERYONE to have crashes, way more than I see on the forums and on the Discord. Not only that, but the sim costs 60 bucks, and the deluxe edition of AAA games cost around 120, so you... paid basically the same amount as if you were to buy the deluxe edition of an AAA game. Every program has bugs and glitches. It takes some time to get everything up and running during release. I play Kerbal Space Program, which is really popular, and for the longest time it was the buggiest mess I've ever seen. Compared to THAT, this is tame. And also remember that you're getting 1,200+ dollars worth of scenery alone with this sim, so the price shouldn't matter.

I don't think I told you anything of the sort actually. I also cannot recall a sim of this scope which has EVER been the finished product. So I take a more relaxed view than you. Each to their own and go for your life if it makes you feel better.

August 19, 20205 yr I’m completely happy with the sim, So much so, unfortunately I don’t think I can go back to my previous simulator. I am thankful for the many years of enjoyment my previous simulator has given me. But this one is game changing in my eyes. Intel I7 12700KF / 32 GB Ram-3600mhz / Windows 11 - 64 bit / NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3060TI / 32" Acer Monitor, Honeycomb alpha/bravo, CH rudder pedals, Tobii 5, Buttkicker, Logitech radio panel.
