Has anyone upgraded to Premium from Game Pass?

Featured Replies

Currently running the sim using XBOX Game Pass option, but I'd like to get the Premium Deluxe version. So when I upgrade in XBOX Game Pass, and then unsubscribe, will I still be able to launch it independently? What I trying to achieve is just an upgrade, if I bought is separately, I'd probably have to redownload (and re-set millions of settings...). Any help appreciated.

Why do you want to upgrade MFS, you absolutely hate it!? Is it just a case of seeking more ammunition? Aren't you back on your beloved XP11 already?

You are under the wrong impression. Only because I am very critical and also angry all the time, doesn't mean I am not using this amazing simulator.

Good question.  I think you can't upgrade from within the subcription. You have to buy the version, then it's yours to keep even when you're not subscribed to gamepass.

Btw, you remind me of the guys who constantly word not allowed and moan about their girlfriend. But as soon as she calls and wants something, they're out the door faster than Usain Bolt.

That's me. Good thing she's out for the weekend.

So, can I buy the game in the XBOX app, and it just updates my existing installation, after which I can unsubscribe from Game Pass?

Like a few of my fellow Kiribatians (on the launch day), I had bought the Premium Deluxe version from MS, but speeded the D/L up buy getting the gampass standard version. This probably would have worked fine but the D/L time was horrendously bad on that day, taking about nine hours, not helped by the fact that my Broadband speed is all over the place these days, great one minute and then like a 28 Kb/s dial up modem the next.

Nevertheless, doing this did demonstrate that a Standard version on my system, was able to be upgraded to a Premium Deluxe version with just an upgrade D/L rather than a complete do-over of the D/L from scratch, since the account was the same for the gamepass and the MS purchase of the full on version.

Yes, the Microsoft Premium and Premium Deluxe upgrades are listed as Owned in the Official Content section (under Marketplace) for me, so would be very surprised if you have to download the 90 GB  standard content again.
