August 22, 20205 yr I think I made two mistakes, firstly buying the DVD version thinking it would be easy to install and next buying the Deluxe Premium version hoping to get a fully functional 787. Installation was a nightmare since I did not understand the relationship with MS Store, X-Box and installing from DVD. Eventually it seemed to install, but not sure what was downloaded after code redemption. Now it works, and I mostly like it but at every startup it tells me to "Please insert te MS FS2020 Game Disc". There is no such thing, but it gets happy if I insert DVD1. Does anyone now what this is about? If I had downloaded the whole thing there would in any case be no disc at alln which would have been better !

There have been numerous threads and posts about this, but DVD1 is the Game Disc. Aerosoft say that Microsoft insisted on this procedure. One user on the Aerosoft forum has provided instructions to create and mount an ISO to circumvent this. I cannot tell you if it works as I have not tried it myself, so you do it at your own risk. Aerosoft understandably can't recommend doing it and I expect Avsim would have to say much the same unless Microsoft officially say it's ok to do so. August 24, 20205 yr Author This "feature" is very disappointing, and not documented in the manual. I agree with 109sqn that DVDI is the "game disc" although nothing in its files on disc say this. If they want you to insert DVD1 then they should say this on the pop-up. The purpose of this "feature is obscure, we have already displayed ownership with the redemption code, and as I said this is not applicable to the cheaper download version. Going to the cupboard to extract the disc set, remove DVD1 and operate the reader is an inconvenience. It would be nice if Aerosoft were to explain this.
August 24, 20205 yr Author Checked the ISO guide. It's been removed ! Seems like unfriendly enemy action to me!
August 24, 20205 yr i also bought the Deluxe Premium DVD version, but I never unpacked the DVD's or put it into the drive. I installed the gamepass version a few days earlier and then simply entered my digital code, it started to download the Deluxe Premium stuff and now I own it and no need not have to insert a DVD 😁 But have the nice Box on the Shelf next to the older FS Boxes.

August 24, 20205 yr Author I really think it's about time that Aerosoftn who supplied my 10 disk 137 euros (delivered) 10 disc set 'fessed up over this and told us what it's all about. Even when you politely complain they just fob you off by saying go contact Microsoft. Pretty unsatisfactory IMHO
August 24, 20205 yr If MSFS asks for the game disc and you have not the dvd version, probably your internet is down right in this moment. Edited August 24, 20205 yr by Gomoto
