August 23, 20205 yr I see where I can select my gender for my avatar pilot, but it makes no change IF you select either sex for the pilot's ATC communication voice. I only seem to be able to have a female voice as my avatar pilot, no matter if I have selected a male avatar. If you can select 'your' voice gender preference, where the heck is that?!?!? Hope you can...look rather weird...a male gender PIC avatar...and he answers with a female voice...er, right? Should point out that it is OFF LINE mode...not Azure... August 23, 20205 yr Author Worked like a charm...here's what I did...I switched the pilot and co-pilot around..: [GENERAL] atc_type = "TT:ATCCOM.ATC_NAME CESSNA.0.text" atc_model = "TT:ATCCOM.AC_MODEL C208.0.text" Category = "airplane" pilot = "Pilot_Male_Casual" copilot = "Pilot_Female_Casual" instructor = "Pilot_Male_Casual" It seems that every other plane is SLAVED to this aircraft's aircraft.cfg for in any other plane folder, there is no such available file....it only says aircraft.loc (ed) I assume? Asobo's owner's wife must had some choice in every avatar pilot being a FEMALE voice no matter the avatar gender visual. Yeah? Well...my guy, NOW sound's like a guy, Ma'am! Well...good on you...you tried...lol! Emerson...here's virtual 24 of (insert brand) great Canadian beer...now my MALE avatar when speaking no no longer looks out of the cockpit window at ME...and mouth's..."REALLY!?!?!?!?" August 23, 20205 yr I remember I did that tweak on first alpha because i didn´t like the pilot voice. In the same file... you can get rid of the pushback guy... more realistic for GA aircraft. Edited August 23, 20205 yr by Emerson67
August 23, 20205 yr Author I ran the sim a second time...and it's back to the female pilot voice EVEN though..in the aircraft.cfg the pilot voice is Male Casual. Seems to default back to pilot female, when the sim is run. So..unfortunately, we need to see a menu or feature to align the voice with the choice of avatar gender. The screwed up on this one! I see what that setting is...it only picks the avatar gender and clothing...NOT the voice..you can't edit the voice communicating with ATC. 😞 Edited August 23, 20205 yr by Sesquashtoo
August 23, 20205 yr Author I think you need to find the .cfg file that controls ATC...and A.i. The aircraft.cfg PILOT section only allows you to define the gender and clothing of either the PIC or the Co-Pilot...but that is it. No matter what, it seems that the OFF_LINE mode voice of any aircraft you choose, is going to be the one FEMALE voice. I truly wonder if the team member in charge of that particualr part of MSFS was female...for not only is the DEFAULT PIC of all default aircraft, a female avatar...but so is the default PIC that requests or responds to ATC. Female as well, so that has me smiling...she got in her giggles, ...LOL! I'm now going to try and find any x.cfg responsible for ATC as I think that is where you need to edit the default (in all cases) female PIC voice coming from your cockpit... Yep...but what you can do...as I have for now...made all my PIC's male..and all my Co's..female...and just make believe that she has offered to take responsiblity for the comms....that works for now. But no..I can't seem to find anywhere where the config file is for ATC. I wonder if that is locked in the WinAPP folder. I don't see anything in the flightsimulator.cfg file. BTW...WideAspectMode is available to turn on with a =1, on line 30 of the config file. FYI.
