how to turn off the sim?

For the life of me , I cannot figure out how to turn off the sim unless I change the game into windows mode and use the "close" program .

There must be another way from within the sim....

Go to the main menu and click quit game

ESC, and / or go to MAIN MENU, and from there you have an option to exit to desktop ( lower left )...

What jcomm said is my method. I haven't seen anyone else post about this yet, but every single time I exit, it simultaneously crashes to desktop with error. Not a big deal since I'm closing anyways lol...but would like to figure out why that's happening.

It will forget things like previous selected airports but Alt F4 is the fastest way to close.

I would think we're going to be pretty safe doing this here in 2020.  Software needs to be robust enough to handle a power-out shutdown w/o causing anything permament.
