P3D v4.5HF3

Featured Replies

I've reinstalled p3d on a m2 drive and it seems to take ages like 15 minutes to load. Sticks at 6% for at least 10 minutes.

Any ideas about this.

Thanks

A/V off?  You probably also want to check for another process running, e.g. the search indexer making its first pass through the quarter million or so files that make up P3D.

Delete P3D.cfg and try again.

Also check the scenery.cfg to see if its corrupted.

MSFS

This sounds like a scenery priority conflict. Do you have any ORBX products, if so, did you put them at their correct priority levels (below detailed airport sceneries), do you have any mesh products, if so are they in their correct location? If you can, would you be willing to post your scenery cfg list? Are you using the Lorby freeware to sot out your sceneries? If not this is highly recommended and simple to use.

For future references, once you solve this problem, make sure you keep your last working scenery.cfg file.

In comparison P3D V5 take exactly 2mins and 15 seconds from clicking OK to the flight starting.  Same Setup.

I need version 4 at the moment as Tack Pack not available for version 5.

Thanks.

I looked at your scenery.cfg file and could not see a potential culprit as far as priorities are concerned. One way to check if this is a scenery problem is to uninstall your add-on scenery one by one (or in batches) since you have relatively few, and see if you get back to normal loading times.

You may also want to try the following entry for Default Terrain:

[Area.001]

Title=Default Terrain

Local=C:\Program Files\Lockheed Martin\Prepar3D v4\Scenery\World

Layer=2

Active=TRUE

Required=FALSE

If that does not solve your problem then revert to your original entry and see if this video helps in your case:
