September 13, 20205 yr I use the MFG Crosswind V2 rudder pedals with all of my flight sims. They work great in everything except FS 2020. I normally fly the Kingair and using the pedals pushes my plane into the ground if I am not careful on take off. The rudder is full left or right or center with no in-between. In the other sims the rudder has full motion and is very smooth, so I know that it is working. In FS 2020 the pedals are working as if they are a full on or off switch. Yes, I have adjusted the sensitivity and other sliders but still it is full left or right rudder. I tested the pedals with the MFG setup program and the pedals are working correctly. Like I said, in other sim programs the pedals work fine. I have run out of options to fix this problem. Any other things I should try that I may have missed? Thanks Dwight
September 13, 20205 yr Hi, have you checked the calibration from within FS2020 itself? In the control options, go to the pedals tab and click Settings and you should get sensitivity and deadzone adjustments, including a visual scale. I'd check there if you haven't yet. hth
September 13, 20205 yr Do you see Tab/corner for MFG in MSFS control settings? Pls add screen here. I have MFG also. September 13, 20205 yr I use MFG with no problems. First make sure you've added them to rudder axis in the UI. If you've added to them one of the other rudder commands you'll get problems. Then when adding any curve make sure you select a negative % value to get the type of S curve you'd see in other flight sims. If you choose a positive % you get a weird curve that results in hyper sensitive movements.
September 13, 20205 yr Author Thanks for the responses. Jackdleach, I did check the calibration in FS2020 as mentioned in my post. I ran them several times to make sure. Dominique, I even tried the settings as mentioned by Squirrel in his great YouTube videos but no change. I went to the MFG web site but did not see any solution there. Tektolnes, I completely removed and re-added the pedals and even moved them to a different USB connection but still the same reaction in FS2020. I then went back to Xplane11 and no problems. For some reason FS2020 is looking at the rudder as an on/off button only. Dwight
September 13, 20205 yr I'm using the MFG's just fine since MSFS launched. Make sure you clear all bindings to the rudder pedals except for your rudder axis and toe brakes. Also make sure you go through all your other peripherals and make sure MSFS didn't automatically assign those bindings to other controllers, which it usually does. Is it done yet? When will it be released? Will it be freeware or payware? How much will it cost? Any updates on the progress? Will it work for Xbox? Can I be a beta tester? How's the performance in VR?

This what Milan refers to herebelow. The "other" peripheral being most certainly the keyboard. Review all your assignements. Been there, done that in P3D and DCS 😉. - If you have some other perhapial that MSFS automatically assigned axis bindings, and it has rudder or brakes (e.g. Microsoft Sidewinder has auto assingen twist rudder) then you should delete that rudder assignment on your joystick as it will interfere with the pedals (double axis bindings !) September 13, 20205 yr Author Good thought. I went and deleted all keyboard assignments to the rudder and made sure nothing else was mapped. I even disconnected all external devices except the yoke and pedals. Still the same behavior, full left or right but no in between. Later today I will try to use just the keyboard and pedals by removing the yoke to see if that makes any change. My stepson is an aircraft mech. I may call him up to see what is wrong with my plane. 😀
September 13, 20205 yr Can you post a screenshot of your UI setting? We might be able to troubleshoot things a bit better then. My Crosswinds worked with no issues and given that they work fine in other sims for you it seems more likely it's a config issue in MSFS.
September 13, 20205 yr make sure they are setup as an axis https://fsprocedures.com Your home for all flight simulator related checklist.
September 13, 20205 yr Author Sorry for the delay, had to run errands. Here are two screenshots of my settings. One sensitivity and the other controls. http://Sensitivity by dwight_talley, on Flickr http://Controls by dwight_talley, on Flickr Hope that they give you a clue as to what is going on. Dwight

Under the primary control surfaces you have Rudder Left and Rudder Right assigned which are being treated as buttons and not an axis. Delete those two assignments. On the left under filter, have it show ALL and not just ASSIGNED. Then you will see what you want to assign, RUDDER AXIS. Same applies for your toe brakes. You want to assign LEFT BRAKE AXIS and RIGHT BRAKE AXIS. Edited September 13, 20205 yr by PWJT8D Is it done yet? When will it be released? Will it be freeware or payware? How much will it cost? September 14, 20205 yr Author Thanks very much everyone who responded. I now have a working rudder thanks to PWJT8D. You can see how the confusion with the setup happened. Hopes this helps someone else.
