Can I start FS2020 without installing the update?

Featured Replies

I have limited amount of data I can download per month, so is there some way to start the sim without the need to download the patch until the monthly data allowance will be reset in a few days?  If yes, how?  It's not that I don't appreciate the patch, but again, my internet data is currently limited.

Unm.. never noticed any option to skip content update (>10 GB)

The app update on ms store also applied automatically for me (670 MB)

Unfortunately no. The simulator always checks for updates as soon as it starts running, and the latest version is mandatory.

You could try disconnecting your internet connection before starting the sim and see if the system hangs trying to check for updates, or if the sim starts up.

If I disconnect the internet it can validate digital ownership and asks for a disk

I use the DVD version, and disconnecting from the internet and starting the sim with the disc inserted works with that method. Thank you for the idea!

+1  Said that in the banner.  I believe you could quit without updating, but not start the simulator until after.
