October 4, 20205 yr In FSX you used to be able to hit 'Q' and mute the program.. I can't find a feature like this in MSFS. Does it exist? I'm trying to fly and watch TV during cruise on longer sectors.
October 4, 20205 yr Yes, hit alt+enter to switch to a windowed mode, then right click on the speaker icon in the bottom right system tray. One of the options will be Open Volume Mixer, and you can choose to mute any application(s). There is no easy way like before.
October 4, 20205 yr Check your keyboard. Many keyboards have a mute button (along with volume up/down keys) that most people have never paid attention to. James
October 4, 20205 yr Under sound options there should be a toggle that mutes the sim if it’s not the current window in focus.
October 4, 20205 yr Also, if you play in windowed mode, you can set it so that it mutes when it loses focus. MSFS 2024. Primary Planes: Black Square TBM850, Duke, Baron, Caravan; A2A Comanche; FSReborn Phenom; Fexix A321; PMDG 737-7, 777: Utilities: Active Sky (Passive Mode); BATC, FSLTL.

I was assuming the OP was intending watching TV on the same PC the sim is running on, otherwise simply switching off the speakers would achieve the same result. October 4, 20205 yr It blows my mind this useful function was taken out of the simulator... then again, it's probably buried deep in the rat's nest that they call the UI.
