i agree. At times it's ridiculous. I've made a change that I believe helps. Its not a fix, but based on some limited testing, I think it improves the proposing, at least in some situations.

I've altered the MOIs in the flight_model.cfg as follows (I feel they are off throughout the sim, but YMMV)

empty_weight_pitch_MOI = 36055;69403 ; Empty pitch moment of inertia, Jxx (SLUG SQ FEET)
empty_weight_roll_MOI = 14187;13434 ; Empty roll moment of inertia, Jzz (SLUG SQ FEET)
empty_weight_yaw_MOI = 36100;75997 ; Empty yaw moment of inertia, Jyy (SLUG SQ FEET)

I'd be curious what you think.

Funny, I was fiddling w/ the same thing, here is what I came up w/ for the flight_model.cfg file (located here for normal STEAM location; \Microsoft Flight Simulator\Packages\Community\workingtitle-aircraft-cj4\SimObjects\Airplanes\Asobo_CJ4)

empty_weight_pitch_MOI = 46001 ; 69403 Empty pitch moment of inertia, Jxx (SLUG SQ FEET)
empty_weight_roll_MOI = 43001 ; 13434 Empty roll moment of inertia, Jzz (SLUG SQ FEET)
empty_weight_yaw_MOI = 18601 ; 75997  Empty yaw moment of inertia, Jyy (SLUG SQ FEET)
empty_weight_coupled_MOI = 0 ; 100 Empty transverse moment of inertia, Jyz (SLUG SQ FEET)

I have no clue if these are actually used in the FS flt model, but I changed them to match the empty weight POH values

[REFERENCE SPEEDS]
full_flaps_stall_speed = 71 ; 90  Knots True (KTAS)
flaps_up_stall_speed = 81 ; 105 Knots True (KTAS)

Update v0.4.1 released:

5800X3D | Radeon RX 6900XT

You guys are pumping these out. Do you know of other mods that conflict with this? My deice buttons are all on, and will not turn off. Also, the screens are dim, and cannot be brightened.

See the main thread for it. G3X and couple others... Listed there.

@cwburnett Thanks for the Simbrief profile.

And many thanks for the new version guys! Does the new version fix the "dolphin dance" as well?

Fix? No. Improve, yes. 😉 But it'll be broken again pretty soon I suspect 😉

😄 Let's hope for the best, but we should expect the worst lol

It got much better here, it's almost imperceptible even at low speeds! And I can actually get to FL400 using FLC all the way. It's the first update where it's mostly positive stuff (negative is some graphic stuttering introduced for me), granted the list is small but at least it didn't break anything I noticed.

Do you all know the root cause? Seeing it exaggerated in slow flight (approach speeds even) and up high near the barber pole, is related to overly sensitive trim for the control surfaces?

It looks like you didn't quite get it in there right from what I could see.

So, each airway needs a valid entry and exit, and the airway get's entered first, then the exit fix, but that only works if the TO waypoint on the line directly above where you're entering the airway is an entry for the airway. You also have to be careful when there are duplicates that you're selecting the right one. Each entry on that select list is a different waypoint and only one is on the airway.

So, in this example:

1) Enter your departure and arrival airports

2) On the same page (FPLN Page 1) enter OMN in the TO fix next to Line Select Key 4 on the right side (LSK R4)

3) Go to the next page. Now, OMN is a valid entry for airway V3, so on the first line you can enter V3 and then your exit fix, in this case is SAV - so enter V3 and hit LSK L1, then enter SAV and hit LSK R1. Then the top line should show V3                     SAV

4) Now you've exited the airway at SAV, you can now enter another airway with SAV as the entry.  In this case we want to go to BEANS via V185 - so enter V185 and hit LSK L2, then enter BEANS and hit LSK R2. Then the second line should show V185                     BEANS

Page 1 of your flight plan should then look like:

 ORIGIN                                         DEST
KDAB                                             KSAV
 ROUTE                                          ALTN
------- ----
                                            ORIG RWY

 VIA TO
----- OMN

Page 2 of your flight plan should then look like:

VIA                                                TO
V3                                                SAV
V185                                            BEANS

Indeed. The issue was not with OMN on the first TO, but it seems like it doesn`t like that I enter SAV (exit) before the airway (V3). Following your steps it works perfectly.

Thanks and sorry it took so long to test it (real life got in the way).

Guys , at the current state, how would you fly a VOR approach with the CJ4?

Is there any way for the aircraft to capture the radial of the VOR or its all manual?
