October 18, 20205 yr Author Is there any documentation on which files should reside where after the install? I'm wondering if there's some old stuff that needs deleting...or if I somehow installed it in the wrong directory?
October 18, 20205 yr Author I'm guessing that the plugin can't find the trainer -- wondering if there's a configuration that specifies where the trainer lives. Edited October 18, 20205 yr by ericrolfe
October 18, 20205 yr Author I've tried reinstalling a few times. Now getting the following error: Quote C:\Program Files (x86)\Reality XP\GNS Simulation\X-Plane\bin\rxpGnsSim32.dll An error occurred while trying to rename a file in the destination directory: MoveFile failed code 5 Access is denied Click Retry to try again, Ignore to skip this file (not recommended) or Abort to cancel installation. Only seeing this for the ...32.dll, not the .64.dll
October 18, 20205 yr You are posting this in the Flightsim (FSX, P3D) forum. If you have an XPlane installation, suggest you post in the XPlane forum instead.. Bert

I trust you are installing from the eCommerce installer on the RXP main web page and not from some update release file and installing both the RXP product and the Garmin Trainer to the default directories. October 19, 20205 yr Author Frank, Thanks for the suggestion. Once I had the problem with the update, I did, as you suggest, uninstall RealityXP and did a fresh install. I am hoping for support from RealityXP - who can perhaps also make sense of the above error. Cheers, Eric
October 19, 20205 yr Hi, This error means most likely the installer is trying to overwrite the existing file with the newest version, which is expected, but fails to do so because the system has a lock on the file. This can happen if you're still running XP11 obviously, or if you've just closed it and there was a crash preventing the trainer process to fully close (can be checked with Task Manager). Otherwise your anti-virus is preventing access to our file and this is a false positive. In this case you might need to exclude our file from your AV scanner.
October 20, 20205 yr Author Quote Rebooted the machine:: Turned off BitDefender Turned off Windows SmartScrren for Microsoft Edge in Settings->Security->App and Browser Control Worked! Thanks for the help...Turning BitDefender off wasn't enough, I guess! Edited October 20, 20205 yr by ericrolfe
October 21, 20205 yr Author More troubles. After verifying that the 430 was working, I turned security back on - figuring it was just an issue with the install. Once again I got the blank screen. I checked the BitDefender logs and got the following security flag: Quote he file C:\ProgramData\Reality XP\rxpGnsSim32.dll is infected with Trojan.GenericKD.44052360 and was moved to quarantine. It is recommended that you run a System Scan to make sure your system is clean. So it was either infected after installation, or the install placed an infected file on my computer or it has the signature of an infected file, but isn't actually infected. If I restore it from quarantine, the 430 screen is no longer blank. The file property details give a date modified of 9/8/2020, a size of 6.42 MB, file description GNS Simulator, file version 2.4.21.0, and original filename of rxpGns.Sim.dll Any help appreciated.
