Does anyone else find the logbook to be somewhat useless?  It records about half of my flights.  I just flew from CYRP down to KLGA and made a pretty nice landing considering there was near zero visibility, and the logbook shows nothing.

It's definitely updated randomly.  I've had flights where I landed successfully and parked where I was supposed to and the logbook showed no landing and a destination of 'vicinity xxxx'.  Had some flights with no takeoff or landing (how does THAT happen - hehehe). I don't even bother.  I do wish you could clear the logbook or delete entries like in FSX.  But really, I don't even bother with it.  

Sometimes shutting down the engine will trigger the logbook to make an entry.

The logbook is ripe with issues and those are well documented in previous topics here.  Not recording all landings.  Destination airport shown as "vicinity of ...."  another airport, and in my case 20 to 30 nm from where I landed.  I appear to have disproved, at least for myself, that issues are caused by shutting down somewhere besides a marked parking spot, or taxiing off of taxiways, etc.  I have parked and shut down in an arbitrary area and had the flight logged.  I have parked in a spot I have been flagged into by ground crews and shut down and not had the flight logged, or had it logged with the vicinity issue. 

I have archived FS logs from FS versions as far back as 1988, and a log from ATP Flight Assignment and have not ever experienced such log issues with any of them.  Pretty embarrassing if I might say.....

Just do a search for 'Logbook' and you'll see what @fppilot has said - numerous discussions about the logbook being selective about what it records. The whole Profile section is flawed. For example, I have never managed to get the achievements for landing on a grass strip, landing in either 5 or 15 knot winds... Initially, I didn't get credited for how far I'd flown inverted, but that now works. The Logbook is just 'interesting' for reference to me, but I appreciate it's a bigger deal for the more dedicated simmer. The achievements are just 'nice', but it would certainly be nice to be credited for completing them.

Mine hasn't recorded any flights since mid September. I'm not that wedded to it but it's annoying that none of the achievements are unlocked either.

Yea,  i fly maybe 2 to 3 hours a days since launch, and my profile counter is locked at 15Hrs....lol
