CTD

Recommended Posts

In my case it is my ED Tracker, causing the CTD with the new patch. As soon as I plug it in, MSFS CTD. When I start it before the MSFS, I CTD at Japan landmark startup screen.

I'm trying to maintain my serenity. I'm heading to the MS forums to give them a piece of my mind.

Thanks for this.   I don't have ED Tracker, but you pointed me to my USB peripherals.  I have a CH Flight Yoke and Thrustmaster HOTAS X plugged into a USB hub that I enable and disable in the game depending on what I fly.

I disconnected the hub and MSFS 2020 started up.  I went in and updated all the files in content manager, and now I am in the process of narrowing down which of the three things (The HOTAS X, The Flight Yoke, or the HUB, that is causing the CTD)

Did you mess around with the contents in this folder?

No. Just ran the update and that was it. I don’t even know why would I touch content folder to be honest.

CTD's here and I emptied my community folder.  I'm using the community folder addon that works with symlinks.  I've verified community folder is now empty and I still get CTD's.

My community folder has A320 and 787 mods and their liveries but I cannot delete them anymore. Locked up

No problems here. I emptied my community folder, other than the payware airports, before the update.

You can't remove items while the sim is running, just in case that's what you trying. Otherwise, reboot and try again.

Yeap, if I disconnect my saitek pro flight rudder pedals from my usb hub, I can load the sim and fly but no rudders obviously. It's a hardware issue 100% in my case.

Definitely my Hotas X which coincidently also has a rudder axis....I'm having outside issues getting my CH flight sim Yoke to work with the CH Device Manager.  So still troubleshooting.

So far MSFS2020 only likes my keyboard and mouse.....grr.

I read about this too, didn’t help me though. Someone reported that it was audio driver issue etc. I also read that even complete reinstall 5 times didn’t help.

Have also a CTD. Disconnected all my peripherals and plugged them again one by one.

CH pro pedals OK, CH Yoke OK, Logitech dual action OK

But Saitek trim wheel CTD and CH throttle CTD as well.

well...they really messed up now !

What we can confirm is that it is hardware related then, at least on our side.

Based on MSFS forum it mostly controls related. Unplugging certain controls fixes CTD but you cannot use those controls any longer. So what’s the point then? Fly with just a computer mouse? Lol

Looks like community manager in MSFS forum has reached out the developers after reading all complains related to CTD. I hope they will start working on new update.
