They can't reproduce the problems on their end. That means it's not going to be fixed until it can be reproduced and the cause can be determined.

In the interim, your best bet is to hunt for the files and hope they're not locked.

Its funny how the live weather constant thunder bug wasn't fixed for the last patch since alot of people seem to be complaining about it.

I hate the weather presets and I'm all in for the Live Weather if there wasn't the constant thunder and lightning all the time.

Wonder who that bug got into the sim in the first place when the live weather was mostly working fine.

 

Asobo seem to be breaking stuff more each patch than actually fixing things....

Well I recently seem at least for the time being to have escaped from this one.  Unsure if the improvement was timed with the past release and then hotfix, or if it is due to REX Weather Force, or even perhaps the combination of those.  This past week I was in two separate flying environments with storms.  Previously that would have produced the constant lightening and thunder, even when live weather showed rain, but no thunderstorms anywhere near.  Even experienced that constant lightening and thunder on top at 10,000 ft. a couple of times with smooth layer on top.  Rare for a cell  to produce lightening and thus thunder at a 10,000 height, much less a smooth stratus layer.

This past week on a flight from Ft Worth, TX., to Huntsville, AL., using REX Weather Force, I passed through and around some convective clouds and rain.  No Thunder, no lightening.  Those in agreement with real world  metars and radar.  A couple of days later, to experiment,  I positioned myself at a couple of different airports here in eastern Maryland during some intense live rain (real world).  Live radar and live lightning depiction on a couple of weather sites showed thunderstorms 30 miles to the south.  Previously in MSFS I would have experienced the constant issue.  But that did not happen.  I had accurate clouds, accurate altimeter, accurate visibility, and accurate rain intensity, but no thunder or lightening.

So update?  Hotfix?  REX Weather Force?  Who knows.  Also wonder if perhaps it is somehow tied to temperatures.  Just know that for me, under my flying conditions, it did not rear its head this past week.

Absolutely. Being wrong isn't a crime.

Come on there are lots of brains making wonderful mods. Maybe one mod can be disabled lightning.

The lightning is my biggest gripe with MSFS right now, besides CTDs which I seem to have fixed (fingers crossed). I reported it to Zendesk but of course no response.

Same. Honestly, i almost dont fly anymore because of this... which is sad.

I may have found a workaround. And I emphasize, "maybe". Start a flight from the world map with "clear sky" preset, in flight change it to live weather.

I dont want to speak too soon but i think for me it solved it (knocking on wood).

I flew last night and didnt have any lightning. In the same location there was lightning with partly cloudy skies 24 hours earlier. I guess it's random or occurs with certain weather conditions.

I've tried everything I can think of, someone has to modify the game's code it seems. Hopefully someone can develop a mod since Microsoft and Asobo seem to be disinterested in this problem.
