A32NX AP doesn't follow the heading

Featured Replies

I have another issue. After installing the A32NX then the autopilot doesn't follow the heading (FMC or direct). I installed FS2020 completly new. Then it worked but again after installing A32NX same thing. After deleting A32NX folder the A320 is back to std FS2020 but problem is still there. Someone any idea? Thank you.

Did you turn on the flight director?

Set a deadzone to your aileron axis.

THIS!  I have a CH Flight Sim Yoke and it is quite noisy in the aileron channel, where it shows quite a bit of flutter when you see it in controls setup.  Setting up a dead zone of as little as 2 to 3% ignores the flutter but still allows the plane to be responsive.

If you don't get rid of the flutter, the AP serpentines along the flight path because of the constant aileron input.  Other aircraft don't seem to be as sensitive as the A320 to this.

For this reason I primarily use my Thrustmaster HOTAS X for the A320.  And yes using a joystick on an a320 is more technically correct.  But sometimes I'm just too lazy to unmount the yoke from the desk and put the joystick up.  (Did I mention I'm lazy?....).  In such cases adding the small deadzone helps a LOT

The problem is onvious, as ours. Addjusting the joystick's deadzone about %10 is the solution.

Correct! Thank you. Deadzone fixed the issue!

Which values helped? I use 6% across all axes.

I use now 20% on all axes.

One more question regarding throttle. I have a speedlink phantom and the lever is horrible. It jumps either from full throttle or full reverse. Any suggestion how to solve this or better get a better joystick?

The new Airbus Edition Side Stick by Thrustmaster is a very decent option and priced fairly good too. I am not a huge fan of the single throttle slider it comes with but it works well enough and has a reverse-thrust functionality. I don't actually use the slider as I have a separate throttle quadrant. On that note, if your budget allows, the matching Airbus Throttle Set by Thrustmaster looks pretty good and is also fairly priced. I believe it has detents for flex, climb and cruise etc which will make controlling throttle settings way easier and more accurate. Black Friday soon......
