This Plane Breaks My Heart

Featured Replies

I'd have to agree!!!  This plane is hot!!!   BUT a heart-breaker, yeah...I think that's a great description.

For me even, it feels better to hand fly since the update(????)....have had some of my best experiences with it yet...hand flying..

BUT!!..it feels as it has a mind of it's own when pushed?...but it's a bit better??

I tried to do a short hop, KJAN - KLIT just to test(all I had time for)....All was well until I engaged the autopilot just after takeoff.

It nose-dived to right above ground level,  accelerated waaaaaaayyy past 250kts down to at about 500ft AGL....frustration returned and I just full-throttled it(with some nice words:-)...till it hit 485kt still only at 900ft AGL...it didn't crash:-|

Yeah 🙂 woke up sleepy downtown Jackson, MS 🙂 .

Anyway, restarted...took off again, "re-alligned" with my route at a later waypoint before engaging the AP, set auto throttle, set alt.....and had a very great quick test flight....smooth final, landed center-line in Little Rock.

Now, I won't say I did everything right....but for such a wide "polar" experience, it left me scratching my head??...but afterwards , in a good way???

So, I love to hand fly it....for me, the "swaying" at high altitude stopped after this latest update...but.....:-) 😞

Yep, a heart-breaker 🙂 would fit here....

She'll come around one day(maybe), if we don't get our 737 back:-), first:-)

Best,

RB

Did more testing on the open source config file update. Interesting. Pitch oscillations like crazy during the climb (FLC). Once at altitude it calmed right down. No pitch, no roll oscillations, so that's a lot better than stock.

I even got ridiculous and flew at FL45000 with full fuel (minus climb burn) at 200KIAS. Rock solid even with a 42kt quartering tailwind. Big improvement. I can handle the jerking around in the climb for now as long as the trip doesn't look like I'm in a speed boat.

I got home from work, forgot about this mod.  Have not yet tried it.  I basically avoid using FLC for most of the MSFS planes...because of that^

VS works ok and its a poor man's way of using the AP while pitching for an airspeed.

Yeah, I was stress testing. Ironically FLC works decently well (for me anyway) under the stock config for that plane.

I ditched the longitude for the CJ4 from Working Title.

The G3000 makes everything too easy and familiar to fly in the sim for me!

The CJ is cool but its slow.  Slowtation hehe.  And its proline - but at the moment, is probably less buggy than C700
