November 16, 20205 yr I am asking if anyone knows where the sims startup sound files are located? I am hoping to change the background music that plays. Not really complaining, but, I'd like something other than the monotonous music they give us to choose from. ;-)
November 16, 20205 yr True it would be much more exciting to log into something like Paint it Black or Thunderstruck or Smells Like Teen Spirit though Stairway to Heaven may be more aviation appropriate.
November 16, 20205 yr WindowsApps\Microsoft.FlightSimulator_1.10.11.0_x64__8wekyb3d8bbwe\Packages\fs-base-onboarding\SOUNDINIT\SHARED_MINIMAL.PC.PCK You will probably not have much luck modifying those files if you have the Microsoft Store version though.
November 17, 20205 yr Turn the music volume down to zero. 😉 Edited November 17, 20205 yr by Bert Pieke Bert
November 17, 20205 yr There is a Wishlist thread on this already to add custom music tracks. Please upvote these 2 threads in the official MSFS forums and maybe Asobo will put this on the "To Do" list and then Asobo can add an option for us to load our own music in the game: https://forums.flightsimulator.com/t/option-to-add-your-own-menu-music/303278https://forums.flightsimulator.com/t/please-add-pre-order-trailer-music-an-option-for-menu-music/161035/19 i5-12400, RTX 3060 Ti, 32 GB RAM
November 20, 20205 yr Hi all. There is a new thread about this in the upcoming developer Q&A session. If the thread gets upvoted enough, it will get the attention of the developers at the Q&A session. The request is to add our own custom music (such as .wav, .mp3, or other sound file) to the menu and loading screens. Please take the time to upvote this so we can get a response from Asobo: https://forums.flightsimulator.com/t/allow-us-to-set-our-own-custom-music-for-the-menu-and-loading-screens/324445 i5-12400, RTX 3060 Ti, 32 GB RAM
