Just purchased MSFS... can't install?

With the USA update of MSFS I thought I would give the app a try (I see it updated my hometown of San Diego, CA).  So I just purchased it via the MS Store (not Steam).  Transaction OK, a window popped up s to where I wish to install?  But appears I have an error message saying:

"It looks like you don’t have any applicable device(s) linked to your Microsoft account. To install, sign in on a device with your Microsoft account."

Isn't my PC an applicable device?  The Message gives me two choices 'CANCEL' or 'INSTALL NOW' but Install now is grayed out?  I have me MS Account open and it indeed shows my order.  Below the error message is does have a 'Get More info' link so it takes me to the MS Store but no info on my issue.

Anybody ever come across this issue?

I doubt it.  But from I am reading my MS Account includes xbox.  I will double-check now.

Apparently I do have a MS Account and a Xbox account.  Looks like there's a small Xbox app that also needs to be installed 'xboxinstaller.exe'.  Tried that, getting install error saying it can't install the app (oh the fun is starting), 0x80070422 which appears to be a Windows update install error which is odd as I am completely up to date with my updates.

Put in a call to Windows support -  🥺

I tried installing that xboxinstaller exe as well and it just hangs.  I have the sim running so I can't complain there though.

Does this help?  It's about gamepass but the account issue is the same:

You need to be sure your pc is activated in your microsoft account. once thats done it should install fine.
