Cirrus sr22 - 150kts?

Featured Replies

Hi all,

the default sr22 says it has a cruise speed of 150kts yet a search of wiki tells me the most common version should be 180kts. This sounds more like it for 300hp.

does anyone know which sirus is modelled and how much hp it has?

thanks

Are you talking indicated, true? 180 knots is max cruise. That's the absolute fastest it will go (TAS) in level flight. We've been over this on here before, but you're not going to get book numbers in real life or the sim.

That said, there is an interesting tendency for the default aircraft to be the basic training models but with very expensive glass cockpit upgrades.

The SR22 G3 they have here in the sim should be able to do just under 180 KTAS at 5500 ft (85% power)

I think Cirrus book value is 211 ktas at FL250

Feels like the sim sr22 is slower than that. I don’t think it is the 300hp version but not sure

An SR22 is the 300 hp version.

Almost all of the default aircraft are or were underpowered.

Yup, this.  I tested actual cruise speeds in most of the piston singles back in September and across the board they are slower than they should be.
