Hello from Northern Maine

Featured Replies

Hello everyone. I'm Matt from Northern Maine.  I'm brand new to the forum. I just purchased MSFS2020 and... WOW!  The last version I played was MSFS2004.  It's come such a long way and I'm super excited about flying and exploring.  I'm also excited to be part of the forum.  Thanks for allowing me to join.  Matt B.

Just going to run a Chromebook and not upgrade to a Windows computer. Too many problems with the new Sims! 😱
Trying to keep peace and harmony and the will of Landru on the site seems to be a full time job!

WELCOME! Enjoy your stay.

My only experience of Maine (apart from watching Murder She Wrote re-runs ) was Bangor airport back in 1982. I was 16 years old  and my Dad and I were on our way to visit my great aunt (a G.I. Bride) in Denver, CO. This was my first time in an airliner and my first holiday visit to another country! The Arrow Air DC-8  we were flying on had to stop at Bangor due to unexpected headwinds. It was late at night and the airport was quiet. On the bright side, all the pax went through immigration so we didn't have too much delay at Denver.. and I got to experience twice the number of landings and takeoffs! Good times!

Welcome to Avsim!  We do have a very active MSFS forum.

Thanks for the welcome everyone... Highbypass... I love Bangor international.   They have a comfy General Aviation lounge.  I've spent a lot of time there as a flight medic waiting for weather to improve or other reasons.  We used to fly patient's in there several times a week for transport to Eastern Maine Medical Center.  A lot of upgrades and modifications have been made over the years.  You should take a MSFS2020 flyby to see if it still looks anything like when you seen it in '82.

I don't have MSFS2020, and alas any actual memories of the airport apart from a vague recollection of buying a coffee and a snack (with real dollars!) are gone.
