DXGI errors in P3Dv5.1HF1

Anyone else running into DXGI errors with P3Dv5.1HF1? I am having quite a few in circumstances where I am fine in v5.0/4.5. Mainly happens in the FSL Bus but have had one in PMDG NGXu too.

Not using trueglass and not anywhere near the VRAM limit...

Let me guess 1080ti 2080ti 3080ti?

 

Reinstall drivers using studio drivers.

RTX 3090. Have tried every driver available (not many for the new series) including studio and the same behaviour occurs

No addons with trueglass. Have had it once turning off VR but the vast majority are within 5mins of loading a scenario, before even setting up VR

I found that the Riva Tuner was the cause of my DXGI errors. Removed it completely and so far not had any more of the errors.

Same with Asus gpu tweak software 

Same with trueglass 

Both will cause dxgi errors.

I have this most times turning of vr this is the only time I have this issue

Sorry to ask, but what do you mean with "first page" (of what)?

A lot of the third-party GPU utilities that do on-screen displays (Rivatuner, Afterburner, Precision X1 etc) do not play nicely with DX12.  I use EVGA's Precision X1 and have to turn the OSD off when running P3Dv5...P3Dv4, which uses DX11, has no issues with the OSD when running the same add-ons.

Also, I relax the timeout params in the Windows DDM--see https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/windows-hardware/drivers/display/tdr-registry-keys

I set  TdrDdiDelay to 20 (default is 5) and TdrDelay to 10 (default is 2).

The solution for me was to switch off "Enable Bathymetry". See here:

Have uninstalled MSI etc.

I am pretty sure I have Bathymetry on though. Will give this a go

Turning off bathymetry seemed to work. I tested at a few locations where I generally get the error and the problem stops if I turn bathymetry off. Thanks Karl!

its going to be fixed in v6.3.  🙂
