December 8, 20205 yr Just upgraded from my Rift S to the G2 and I now really need some way of displaying my Navigraph charts inside the headset. My Rift S had the nose piece removed so I could peer under the headset at the monitor (although this was a bit of an immersion killer). The G2 doesn't allow you to remove the nose piece (unless you tear it off the adhesive permanently) plus I would like to keep the immersion. My maddog has a lovely built in EFB which displays the charts, but my PMDG DC-6 and all my A2A GA stuff doesn't. I would kill for a addon EFB which could be used in all aircraft. Does anyone have any suggestions about how to view charts in P3D v4.5 with a G2?
December 8, 20205 yr If you have the GTN750 from Flight1 or RXP, you may add it to every aircraft as a popup window in the cockpit. Even if you don‘t use it as GPS in some aircraft, you can still show the charts (though the Garmin supplied charts only) and checklists. The latter must be generated in order to be displayed on the GTN screen. The position of the popup window can be precisely defined by some additional entries in the panel.cfg. December 9, 20205 yr Or you try OVR Overlay via Steam VR. Little cost I recall (2,99 EUR???). Now you can use any app or browser within VR. Move your "window" around with your controllers. And use your browser with mouse......keyboard, etc. Brilliant and FPS friendly as you can choose some FPS presets for OVR (1, 15, 24, 30, 60 FPS). You can change the window size and transparency also. Very useful and very clear image. I use it with HP Reverb G2 (prior with G1) Marcus Regards, Marcus P.
December 10, 20205 yr Author This sounds really interesting. Can you use the Navigraph software as a window?
December 10, 20205 yr Author I can only find OVR Tools, and OVR Drop (which is a bit more expensive at 10 Euros). I am wondering which one to try. Anyone had any experience with either?
