December 17, 20205 yr I bought it from SamScene after I received this from SamScene. Hello If you bought it in simmarket or samscene store you can choose the option to install kai tak city area, but if bought in MSFS marketplace it cannot be separated because after we submitted the package we were told that MS marketplace cannot have this function but they are investigating this function. We are considering to update the Hong Kong package in marketplace without the kai tak cruise terminal in the near future, but it seems made the title less meaningful. Hope this helps samscene.com I see 3 folders. I am using the linker to disable the Kaitak city. Let me see what I get. Edited December 17, 20205 yr by Manny Manny Beta tester for SIMStarter

The one I installed was "samscene3d-hkcitytimes" which works with the Kai Tak freeware airport. That one doesn't have the cruise ship terminal, and it doesn't have any changes to VHHH either (Chek Lap Kok International). So I am using the default VHHH at the moment. Having said that, I asked WF Scenery Studio and supposedly, they claim to be working on a version of VHHH for MSFS. So I am crossing my fingers and hoping they will release VHHH some time in the future. i5-12400, RTX 3060 Ti, 32 GB RAM
December 17, 20205 yr Tested it. It works fine. No Terminal on the runway. Just disable Kai Tak city and the Freeware does the Kait Tak airport and city. SamScene does the rest of Honk Kong Manny Beta tester for SIMStarter
December 17, 20205 yr For VHHH, I have hongkong-internartional-airport-vhhhntsb and it's fine. Just done another cfbw into VHHK with the update and it gets better. Just need KAiRi and Salty to get their respective 747s in order to have decent 747 flights into and out of VHHX. December 17, 20205 yr It's for MSFS, the file came out as that name. The manifest says it was made by NTSB. I didn't port it, but came from: https://www.fs2020mods.net/airports/457-hong-kong-international-airport-vhhh Martin Martin Parr Retired professional yacht skipper for vessels up to 46m System: Omen 40L GT13-0054na Gaming PC; Windows 11 Home 64-bit OS; Intel Core i9-10900K CPU @ 3.7GHz; RAM 32GB; Samsung S34J55x Monitor 3440x1440 @75 Hz Resolution; NVIDIA GeForce RTX 4080 Ti. But again, I'm not an expert and could be missing something. 🙂 (Also, reading the developer's comment quoted above it didn't sound like they were very confident with what they did. It's entirely possible they made the right change and it didn't work for some reason, but I wouldn't be surprised if there was some other issue with it.) I'd do some experimentation myself, but I don't have the marketplace scenery. If you want to give me the coordinates for the terminal in question, and I have some time tomorrow, I can put together that "minimod" for you and we can see if it makes a difference or if there's something else going on. Hi kaosfere. I got a better answer from the other Kai Tak airport developer, that you might be interested in reading. So there is another freeware Kai Tak airport, the first one, that was made by Superspud. Superspud more or less says in the comments that he cannot exclude a building from a third party scenery file: Quote Unfortunately there's no way I can exclude a building from a third party scenery file. I can only exclude buildings that are inside the sim. Someone would need to have control of Samscene's project files to remove that building. Superspud's comment: https://flightsim.to/file/642/vhhx-kai-tak-airport-hong-kong So it appears that if the object is from the third party scenery file, the exclusion rectangle will not work on it. At least that is what Superspud is saying. i5-12400, RTX 3060 Ti, 32 GB RAM

At least that is what Superspud is saying. That's interesting. I was definitely able to exclude non-airport objects from another package in my tests yesterday. Superspud is a talented scenery dev, though, so I fully believe what they're saying. I wonder where the disparity is coming from. Unless somehow buildings are different from other library objects? Hmm. [Edit: I've posted there asking for some more information on this. I know that @superspud has dropped by here a time or two, maybe we can get some info from him in this thread, too.] Edited December 17, 20205 yr by kaosfere

Hmm. Maybe he was referring to custom objects created by the 3rd party developer? The way he wrote it, "Unfortunately there's no way I can exclude a building from a third party scenery file. Please correct me if I am wrong, but the non-airport objects you excluded in your tests yesterday, weren't those already in game MSFS objects? i5-12400, RTX 3060 Ti, 32 GB RAM

Yes, they were standard library objects. I suppose that's a possibility, though it feels a little odd to me. I might do some testing with my little Loch Ness Monster object, since I was just recently messing with it anyway and it should work as well as anything. 😄
