Hi guys,

first of all i'd like to thank all those who argued with me about the 30hz/60hz thing. It made me give it another try and so far i can say i am starting to like it. I still have to get used to the "visible" 30Hz refreshrate while near/on the ground but thats a matter of time i guess.

But anyway i am still struggling with the issue i call microstutter (don't know if thats technically the correct term though) while turning during taxi which is quite annoying.

I have tried these three setups:

Monitor to 30Hz, VSync off, RTSS set to -1,

Monitor to 30Hz, Vsync (ingame) on, RTSS off,

Monitor to 60Hz, Vsync off, RTSS 1/2x @ -1.

Overall i have the impression that all three work more or less the same. Sim is smooth overall but microstutter when at the ground (especially during turns).

To those who have more experience than i, is there something i am missing in my setup? Are there any settings in the Nvidia CP to take care of?

I'm using a Rtx 2060 super, and get far less microstutter when I use a 120Hz setting VSync off.

My screen setting is 5120x1440 pixels !

I sadly can only use 60Hz cause i am running  @4k on a TV connected via HDMI which can only handle  60Hz@4k. I could turn down to 1080p/120Hz but thats what i'd like to avoid.

I agree, 4k gives you a much better experience. Even with stutters !

Your RTX 3080 is much better than my Rtx 2060S : I'm surprised, I'm planning to buy an Rtx 3080... I will follow your post in case someone can help you.

I get same other specs as you ! (Processor, Ram)

Keep in mind that FPS are constantly good. I assume the problem is related to some other setting

I use G-Sync + V-Sync in Nvidia panel and cap my fps to 30 with Riva Tuner, smooth as butter for me with a 100hz monitor.

Vsync in NCP doesn't seem to work here. 😕

Strange, it works fine for me, I get flickering if I turn it off.

Have you connect your monitor via displayport?

Nope, via HDMI.

When i activate vsync in NCP it just does nothing. Looks the same as when its turned off.

Do you use any settings for the syncline or FPS lock only? I currently have set it to -1 but to be honest i have no idea what that setting really does 😄

What are you running vsync in game at, 30 or 60?  Skip

I use FPS lock only, I use RT because I can change my cap on the fly, when I fly in the countryside I run my game unlocked, I only cap it to 30fps when I know I will visit a busy International airport, otherwise I get terrible stutters.

Vsync in the game does not work properly.

Purely FYI, but I am running 30hz on the monitor, vsync + TB on in graphics card settings (NCP for you), vsync on in sim, but set to 60 hz in the sim, and I get smooth 30 fps with little/no stutter. Just a data point. I've never found a benefit to adding RTSS to the equation unless your monitor can't do 30hz natively.
