Built a model of it back then. Nice shot of her! Thanks Steve, and that is exactly my relationship with her. In later life I had a teaching trip to Omaha, and went to see her at the SAS Museum. In fact I had two trips to Omaha and went to see her both times. It was quite a buzz to see a live one. And I bought a large scale kit model of her then, but it's just sat in my workshop for twenty years un-assembled. Maybe one day. (Oh, and in the early days of the internet I did a search for the B-58 online, hoping to find a book or two on her (I did get a couple in the end). Can you imagine all the stuff that comes up when you do a search for "Hustler"? I wasted days of my life <grin>) Ryzen 9 7900X, Corsair H150 AIO cooler, 64 Gb DDR5, Asus X670E Hero m/b, 3090ti, 13Tb NVMe, 8Tb SSD, 16Tb HD, 55" Philips 4k HDR monitor, EVGA 1600w ps, all in Corsair 7000D airflow case. LOL I can only imagine you expression on the 1st hit of a "Hustler" search request back in the day. 🤣 Regards, Steve DraGet my paints for MSFS planes at flightsim.to here, and iFly 737s hereDownload my FSX, P3D paints at Avsim by clicking here
December 19, 20205 yr A certain Brig. Gen. James W. Stewart went for a flight in one of the rear seats in a Hustler for a promo film I believe. An accomplished WWII bomber pilot, he was current on several newer aircraft prior to his retirement, but not the B-58.. Quote During his active duty periods, Colonel Stewart remained current as a pilot of Convair B-36 Peacemaker, Boeing B-47 Stratojet and B-52 Stratofortress intercontinental bombers of the Strategic Air Command. https://www.thisdayinaviation.com/tag/jimmy-stewart/#:~:text=During his active duty periods,of the Strategic Air Command.&text=James Stewart was one of America's most successful film actors. My first one was a B 727, the second one the B 58 😀 Any attempt to stretch fuel is guaranteed to increase headwinds My specs: AMD Radeon RX6700XT, AMD Ryzen 9 5900X, 32GB RAM, 34" monitor, screen resolution: 2560x1080
