December 22, 20205 yr https://www.aerospacetestinginternational.com/features/qa-ceo-of-hybrid-electric-aircraft-developer-voltaero-jean-botti.html The ten seat variant will be the hybrid. Deliveries by 2022 they say. "Our Cassio will fly in ranges of 800 miles (1400km), 200 knots full speed. All the versions, four, six and 10 have very low take-off distances, less than 1800ft (550m), so we can use this plane in a lot of regional airports." https://www.voltaero.aero/en/ Edited December 22, 20205 yr by martin-w
December 22, 20205 yr Call me a true believer, but I hope Elon Musk buys out this company. Already Tesla is the 6th biggest corporation in America. He can afford it. Somehow I think things will move faster with Elon running the show. 5800X3D, RTX4070, 600 Watt, one or two 1440p 32" screens, 64 GB RAM, 4 TB PCle 3 NVMe, Warthog throttle, VKB NXT EVO stick, Honeycomb Alpha yoke, CH quad, 3 Logitech panels, 2 StreamDecks, Desktop Aviator Trim Panel. Crystal Light VR.
December 25, 20205 yr I do like the artist's rendition of the Cassio - reminds me of a Piaggio Avanti.... and a Cessna 337 SkyMaster. INTERESTING! December 26, 20205 yr Author It's the way its going though. I know we have the Pipistrel Alpha Electro fully electric flying and the Eviation Alice about to have its first test flight, but its the hybrid designs that will be the most common I reckon. It's pretty much going the same way as cars. Hybrids popular, then as battery tech improves fully electric.
December 26, 20205 yr Author Just look at this gorgeous machine. Will be available conventionally powered, hybrid, and fully electric. https://www.pipistrel-aircraft.com/aircraft/cruising/panthera/
December 27, 20205 yr Cool. I am aware of all the Pipistrel advancements! That Slovakian company has really got it together. Extremely polished. Was not aware of the Cassio aircraft. Very futuristic!
