Its driving me crazy, sometimes you have to go to the store to update, the next day it can  update in the game, seriously Asobo can you decide, another  thing is they are mega huge, let me buy them on a dvd it would be faster for me to get them that way, ffs its crazy. How about letting them download in background, cant be that difficult to figure out even Blizzard found that out.

You should have figured it out by now. Major patches like today’s will require a new application from MS store, sort of like P3D had client updates. The minor hotfixes will just update from the UI.

Procedure for updates is. Rename your community folder to My_Community, Do the microsoft store update, then start MSFS2020 to get the main update, go into your profile and do any addon updates you need to do, Exit sim reboot PC, then delete the community folder that the update creates(It's empty) and rename the original community folder back to default. Works seamlessly. The sim is progressive. It's been this way since release. instead of ranting off go and do some searching online for updates! Asobo talk about and pre announce weeks before the updates are made.

I'm getting tired of seeing all this nonsense around the community folder pre/post patch installation.  There is no need to follow your convoluted instructions - just leave the community folder where it is.  Download the update and only disable mods in the community folder AFTER installation IF you encounter issues!

What I do not understand is why everything else from every other website downloads at 150-300mbps.EVERYTIME that I update MSFS I get between 5 and a max of 8.2 mbps. Takes 1 hour per 3gb so I'm looking at 4-5 hours just to get this updated.

So when I said "leave the folder where it is" I meant don't rename, don't delete new folder and don't rename original back to default.  Your just over complicating things and giving dodgy advice to those folks less informed.
