November 26, 200619 yr Hi guys,I am planning to to an around the world trip. I want to jump from airfield to arifiel in a small plane (probably the Baron 58) ...save my game once parked ...manage my fuel ...everything. I am searching for a flight plan that will make me pass by amazing scenery and wonders.Any one knows where I can find this?
November 26, 200619 yr I had a lot of fun recreating Amelia Earhart's flight. Won't say it will take you past scenic wonders but I had a lot of fun with it. Tried 1st in an FS9 Lockheed Electra, but the only one I found had modern avionics which I didn't care for. So I got Milton Shupe's fantastic FS9 Beech 18 which has a very nice period panel. Was close enough for me in terms of size, appearance and performance ;) (I've installed it in FSX also, and works great!)I never finished, got only as far as Karachi, Pakistan. But I made every landing at every stop along the way, setting the FS date to match the actual date of the leg I was on, and it was a lot of fun! Here's Amelia's itinerary if you're interested:http://www.tighar.org/Projects/Earhart/maps/worldflight.htmlPossibly there is a ready-made flight plan for her attempt online but I don't know where.Good luck on your flight!
November 26, 200619 yr A tip: Following a flight plan around the world can be rather dull. Instead you may want to do freeflight and explore as you go. Just make sure that there are airports and refuel facilities on those airports. You may want to add some realism into it though, on my first flight i avoided North Korea, Iran and some other states that could severely damage the paintjob on my 747.Large cities with many buildings in them are your best bet for sightseeing.
November 26, 200619 yr World flight have some FS9 flight plans. But for a 747. Maybe you could use as a starting point for your Baron 58 trip and add some extra airports in between?http://www.worldflight.com.auhttp://www.worldflight.com.au/operations/downloads.php
November 27, 200619 yr We completed our above RTW trip a good few years ago, but it has proved popular with many GA pilots so I left the site up.An accompanying narrative written by Mike McKuen & Jozef Kusters, describes much of the route and is a great read. There are included flightplans which you are free to use.http://www.dmcity.com/slarty/ - Dean P3Dv4 & XP11 space
November 27, 200619 yr HelloI am very pleased that you left the site up.I wonder if any of the simmers that took part originaly are still around here ?EDITIt would be great if this RTW could be started up again, it is a great resource and also a nice piece of flight sim history

November 29, 200619 yr Author I assume you are now aware that inestimable Charles Wood commissioned from FS-Design and upgraded by Norman Hancock with period instruments a period Electra with proper fuel tank setup and flight plans to recreate Amelia's last flight?Files can be found:http://library.avsim.net/esearch.php?CatID...04fp&DLID=85851http://library.avsim.net/esearch.php?CatID...acrp&DLID=86148http://library.avsim.net/esearch.php?CatID...4pan&DLID=86601and read the very detailed instructions to get the rest of the needed materials. Even includes directions for installing and using a star whatchyamacallit for navigating by the stars, just as her navigator did. They did an awesome job.May also want to check outhttp://library.avsim.net/esearch.php?CatID...scen&DLID=58304Thomas[a href=http://www.flyingscool.com] http://www.flyingscool.com/images/Signature.jpg [/a]I like using VC's :-)N15802 KASH '73 Piper Cherokee Challenger 180 Tom Perry
